Cool Caliper Paint Q&A

Wizards: need some sage wisdom on the above topic. Those that have painted their calipers, please comment on: 1. durability 2. maintaining the 'AMG' logo 3. pix of different colors on the car 4. best products, etc. Pardon the neurotic concern but I want this potential job to look 'right and tight'. Thanks in advance. P.S. I did a search but not too helpful. Joker

If you want it done "right" - go get them powdercoated.

Eastwood Brake Coating System

I have to preface this by the fact that I have never used this product, however...Eastwood products are excellent and am considering using it. So, food for thought...powdercoating is the best method though if you want to last. Check this link ------> Eastwood Brake Coating

I might want to add also - if you're pulling the calipers of to powdercoat , you might want to consider installing stainless steel brakelines on your beast also!

1. It's as durable as the prep you do. Follow the instructions and CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN before applying. Mine hasn't chipped yet and looks great.

2. Not an issue with my application but for yours some steel wool or a scotchbrite pad would suffice.

3. No pics handy - who cares, put the color on that makes you happy. Understated-silver, Invisible-black, Racy-red. They make other colors but my opinoin is you're treading into ricy territory with blue or yellow.

4. Only have experience with G2 and it was great to work with.

PS I vote no on the powdercoating. Cost/effort for the desired result is out of line. Painting can be done at home in a day. Powdercoating requires complete disassembly, downtime, reassembly, and testing to make sure everything's ok. No thanks.
