Deposit on e55 w211?
Has anyone been able to place a deposit on a w211 E55 yet? I read that the build date is next year and was wondering if dealerships are taking reservations.
Has anyone been successful? Was thinking about calling my salesmonkey tomorrow and asking him..
thanks!

the dealers are not taking any order for w211 e55 now, but they put me on the reservation, and my deposit will be placed as soon as they have info for the e55

For real....
long term project, hopefully i can expect to get a W211 E55 by june of 2003. Gives me plenty of time to get completely sick and disgusted of my w220 hehe
and allows me to sell my car, still under warranty, for a pretty decent price.

Did you consider the 2003 S55? It will have the 500HP supercharged engine and it looks like it wil be in US prior to the W211 E55.

I would love a S55, but my practical side is screaming at me. I've already gone down the $100k car route with my S class and quite frankly, it wasn't as satisfying as most people would think.
E class is much more a value. Plus, since it is new styling, I could potentially keep it for longer. The w220 s class is slated for a change in 2005.
One of the main reasons why I didn't buy the W210 E55 was because it was near the end of the life cycle.. gotta stay one step ahead!

I put down a deposit last December when it was first rumored to be in the works...Some dealers just can't say no to our money -- on the bright side, I hope they invested it in AOL shares...It should be worth about $100 to them by the time I get my car.

The sales mgr. called me Today, W211/E55 is going to production
from Sept, few pilot cars will send to the Frankv show
and debut to the world.
Option & color is now on quote, right before production.
Aircargo can be arranged in the middle of Sept if I'm ambitious
to be the first batch OWNER.
No ! no budget this year .......

I recently placed a deposit on a new E55 as well. My dealer (HBL Mercedes) in Tysons Corner, VA took the deposit about 2 months ago. They were unable to provide me with the pertinent information about the car, but assured me that I would be receiving one of the first in my area, expecting a summer delivery '03.

House of Imports are taking deposits on the W211 E55. The car will appear on netstar for March Production. Options will mirror the E500 with 3 types of 2-tone interiors colors available. 469 hp for the US. Car passed EPA testing and got the ok for US market

Hey Andrew!
Let me know when you get your E500 need to check out the body style and see if i like it in person. Also what rims are you planning to put on once you get it?

I placed an order March 2001, and my dealer told me I was number 3 on the list. Turbo2, I also went to HBL in Northern VA, so go find out what's your place on the list.

gelvir-
Im suprised you were #3 on the list, from talking to my sales rep. and the sales manager they were not even sure if they could take a deposit yet and said that no one had put a deposit down yet. Ill try to give them a call this weekend and see what they say, everyone at HBL is a little backwards.
Thanks

Turbo2--
They did take a $1000 deposit. I actually signed the order form which simply states that I will be getting the car at Market Value (which I believe is the real price of the car and not some marked-up price). Talk to them and ask which is your place on the list. They told me that at the end of every month all orders are put into a database (probably a list of names) and places on the list depend on the date on which the order was placed.

I placed an order, with deposit approx 18mths ago. I was called to specify options for the car last month, with an expected Dec/Jan delivery. I have been a little concerned with talk of the W211 not commencing manufacturing until March/April 2003, but my dealership is MB owned and have been very firm in their commitment to a pre Christmas delivery.
