03 to 05 06 COMAND
Hi, Sorry if this is a repost. I tried searching and couldnt find any useful source. My question is it possible to change the 03 COMAND unit to a newer model 05 06? Since the 03 does not have navi and sirius radio. Is it simple or do I have to change the multi function LCD cluster in the dash also? How much would this roughly cost? Another question is 60k out the door for a 03' sil/charcoal e55 a good price? It recently has 27k miles and is it mint condition. Straight from dealer. TIA! any help would be greatly appreciated! -vann

Yes it is cpo, and there is some warranty left but it should be over by the end of this year. Should i also buy the extended warranty? or just wait on another car?

So it is possible to put a comand in the 03? If so how much did it cost you darkstar? Did you do this yourself or had the dealership put it in for you? After installation does everything work perfect like the 05 06 models? including the steeringwheel controls and the multifunction lcd unit in the instrument cluster? thanks for your .02

Yes, works perfectly, and as it should in the newer models with MID display, steering wheel controls, etc. Mine even plays MP3 on DVD, which only works for some.
Steve installed it...he has updated pricing, etc. I suggest you get on his list he is coming to Cali in a few weeks (not sure when yet)...right Steve? He's going to finish my distronic when he gets here (I hope!).
