And yes the M3 csl was one bad motha! But man that race at the end was crazy!!!! Just when I thought the Gallardo had everyone.......Bam here comes the GT-R and win by a nose. What a great race. I love these videos.
And yes Amg's kick A S S! Did you see how it beat the M5 the first time froma dig and the second time as well. The third time the M% beat him, but just by a nose. That 500 hp advantage sure does not seem like a whole lot at speeds of upto 100-110. Man BMW has gotta be pissed that the Amgs are so close to their 500hp monster. Theya re gonna be cryin when the new amg 63 comes out on the E-class and Cls class.
You got to give credit where credit is due. In the first two runs, the guy in the M5 had the car shifting automatically. Of course, it lost those two runs. Finally, when he wakes up, he realizes the M5 should be in S6 mode where he has to shift with the paddles....And in that run, the M5 beats the CLS 55 13.144 to 13.174 (albeit a small margin)
So saying the CLS 55 beats the M5 in the 1/4 mile is taken out of context and to say the CLS 55 "smokes" the M5 in the 1/4 run is pure confabulation

I didn't realize they now have it available on google.
thanks!
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
the m5 destroyed the cls in handling and weight transfer, u can clearly see how well it manages its weight in transitions.
I think that is BMW's big secret about their handling. It's just doing it directly from the factory as we( meaning all mb owners) try to do the same by lowering the car with suspension kits. Why can't they just do it from the factory.
Oh and I do agree with the first m race between the m5 and cls 55, but the second and third seem legit to me and I had no idea that the cls would be that close to the M5 given the hp advantage. You just wait til the 63 amg comes out for these cars. BTW how did you guys like the race at the end?
You have to check out that race at the end. One of the best that I have seen.
FWIW, WayneE offers some solid track launch advice:

The conditions and traction was terrible too. Both cars can run much faster under better conditions. Ask AMEN GO
I was surprised the CLS didn't do better than 12.7. 12.7 should be achievable doing runs all day long. With the M5, you have to use p500s S6 mode and change gears with the paddle. furthermore, if not using LC (by the way he was laying rubber we can conclude he was not) the already torque limped M5 has no chance of putting up respectable numbers. give it the LC and it is 12.5 -12.7 1/4 mile car
