Best spot to install Aquamist?

I'm adding Coolmist or Aquamist type cooler to my 210 to cool down the supercharger temps. I was wondering does the nozzle need to go directly into the intake manifold and if so, how close. Also I would like to install it about 9" away but it will have to spray around two bends in the piping, will water recollect on the bends? My last question is do I spray with the wind or against the wind. I have heard both sides, but never anything specific for Mercedes.
Thank you

I want to spray after the blower, after the the air has already been compressed and heated.

Does the Gen I HPS suck through the MAF or does it blow the pressurized air through? Either way, you want it downstream of the MAF and the blower but before it enters into the intake doghouse.

These are the steps,
1 K&N filter
2. MAF
3. TB
4. Supercharger
5. piping
6. aka, doghouse.

Install after the blower in the piping that runs to the intake.

I know, but I'm worried about spraying around two bends in the piping. I don't want the water to recollect. It might might be safer for me to do it right at the intake manifold but it is a lot more work.

I'd install it where your MAf used to be. That would be close enough.

Don't worry about the bends - if the injection pressure is set correctly (100+ psi) the water will be vaporized when it enters the intake tract. It will become part of the airflow. Spray against the flow for best mixing and maximum impact.

If I spray against the compressed air flow, how many inches between the spray nozzle and the blower? How far does the spray shoot?

I don't know the exact answers to your questions, but consider this: These systems are usually triggered at WOT, when there is significant air flow. When the spray leaves the nozzle, it is immediately vaporized, so it is highly unlikely that a low-mass vapor would be able to travel upstream against that air flow. I would think that you should be able to put the nozzle in fairly close proximity to the SC outlet with little risk.

I'm only running 5lbs of boost and I want the spray to turn on at 3psi. I'm guessing I would set it back about 11" from the blower.

If you are going to be spraying AFTER the blower, you are best to spray just before the air enters the combustion chambers. This prevents any further heat soaking. Just leave enough space 5" or 6" so the water has enough room to fully atomize before entering the combustion chamber.

On the W211 my nozzles are being placed in the intake manifolds (the cast iron pieces that say AMG). I spent alot of time researching and checking for the best spot and this is what I decided on. There is 1 nozzle being installed in each manifold. On my car the air path is straight and perpendicular to the intake runners which lead into the block. This is perfect because the water will be sprayed just above each intake runner and should provide adequate coverage for all cylinder banks. (see picture below.. Red arrow is location of nozzle).

Me and my father installed BoostCooler methanol/water injection in his Cobra. Going back and forth with the company and the man who desgined it, we found you want the nozzle to be as far from the intake as possible to make the most out of the cooling effects and to prevent saturation. You also want it to be after the intercooler if you have one. There should be nothing between the nozzle and the intake valves (meaning no MAF, no intakes, not filters etc). You also want to get the water to spray perpendicular to the air flow, it doesnt really matter, just easier to install and makes a finer mist.
