E55 vs Bentley GT
Played a little cat and mouse today with a Bentley gt up to about 140. We both got off the same exit and found a red light and raced from a dig. I was so far ahead I really couldn't count car lengths anymore. Fun stuff let me tell ya. I think we both had a kick *** time, because as I went to turn off at my exit he went by with his hand stretched out his window waving.
Is the E55 really that much faster or was he just letting off a little at the light. There was no traffic and I did give him the I wana race signal and he nodded yes.

E63 biturbo
I've driven a GT and it is much faster on the move than it is off the line. Off the line it has 2300+kgs holding it back and a little bit of turbo lag. You would still have won from a roll but by much less IMO.

Haha... Funny story...
The Bentley is fast, damn fast, but only after it's rolling. I think the E55 is faster up until 150, then the Bentley will kill it, but that all depends on how big the drivers' ***** are.
I've never raced both side by side, and my girlfriend is too scared to do it with me.

The Bentley GT is amazingly fast considering its mammoth weight.

Gunite,
Is your E55 stock ?
My friend who has an SL55 went on a Bentley day out and said the GT was seriously fast ... enough to give his SL55 a tough time he thought. They were power braking the launch and he said the thing just catapulted off the line with minimal traction issues.
Just curious if your kill was stock or not ....
Rgds Steve.

yeah u will dust him every time, the bentely doesn't do much but fall behind. but, it's still a bentley!
i have raced my friend's several times with the same result. e55 is lighter with torque and power that's comparable to the bentely, but the weight is the deciding factor and our transmission is superior as to it's shifting speed.

The Bentley that we did, is MUCH faster off the line with the GIAC software upgrade and Cargraphic exhaust. In OEM tune, the turbo's take a while to spool up, and combined with the AWD and massive weight, a AMG car will smoke it off the line everytime. As others have mentioned though, once those turbos get going HOLD ON! With the ECU and exhaust things are very different. I'm not sure that a AMG still wont get that edge, but the GT will start gaining alot quicker.
I must say I'm impressed overall by the GT, its not the lame cushy cruiser that I thought it was, it handles well and is fast as all hell with the mods
