Better suspension possibilities????

So far I am really enjoying my heavily Kleemanized 2005 E55k My biggest issue is with not being able to feel a significant "road connection". I already have lowering module etc. But It needs something more to improve handling. I am thinking of removing the airmatic suspension and/or trying to some how install an ABC system.

Any ideas? Suggestions?

I suggest not to go that route. If you wanted a BMW, then you should have gotten one. The AIRMATIC is an awesome feature. If you want more road feel, run larger diameter tires with low profile tires.

Kind of what I was thinking. You may have bought the wrong car. Even if you could get "rid of" of airmatic or add something else, I would shudder at what that would cost.

AMG does many things very well. Feel/handling is not one of them.

HUGE mistake!

The Airmatic on the E55 is what you get -- and what you stay with....

...get a different car if you don't like how the E55 handles.....

Suspension mods are few with the airmatic but you can do the CLS bushings and front shocks which are stiffer than the W211 E55 stock shocks. I went one up on that and put in the CLS55 steering rack which is quicker by about 15%. It truly is a great difference in reduced understeer and turn in speeds. The confidence in high speed cornering is much better.

Huh?? Now, I'm confused...Don't the E55 and the CLS55 share the same rack? I thought that was an "upgrade" in '05 and up? Damn, even more I gotta swap out!!

I am pretty sure the CLS 55 030 package has the shortened steering rack and an LSD...I could be wrong. I am definitely going to get the parts from 030 package and install on my E55.

Jangy sorry that I didnt elaborate, the W211 05's should have the same rack as the CLS55's. I have an 04.

If you have an 05 then you should have the upgraded rack.

Actually the 030 entails a whole lot more than just LSD. Also for you to get the AMG lsd you will need the Euro axles too.

I will be calling EVO as soon as I can get the few job related calls out on Monday. You got me scared on the $ that it will take, but I do want them.
