I liked the debadged look and stealth attitude. But, the new ride looks tight, too.

Debadge!! It looks soooo much cleaner. Seriously, who puts straight-script badges on a car that barely has any straight lines on it anywhere?? Badges on these cars always looked like a cheesy afterthought to me.

IMO i would keep the badges, i think that engine has earned it's right to flaunt the Kompressor sign, besides I understand the stealth look, but you don't want to blend in with any E500 sport package, you want to state your point from the Get Go!

Jangy you are quite the recent post ***** arent you? Anyways my take on this is whenever I see a debadged car I think its a poser trying to up convert- Like 528i's trying to be 540's or E350's trying to be E500's. Obviously an E55 owner can tell what an E55 is without the badges but IMO I would not debadge. Ever heard of a debaged Porsche Turbo? The E55 badges are not over the top and you did buy the car with the AMG engine and all the bells and whistles.

My vote is to leave the trunk badges on, but to debadge the V8 Kompressor on the side...looks cleaner, IMO.

I am the exact opposite... I like the debadged look because it is a much cleaner look.. And... I want the unsuspecting people on the road to assume I am an E500 or an E320.. Then give them the shock of their life when they try to get past me..

Advertising that I have a V8 Kompressor or that it is an E55 is of no importance to me. That's my $0.02 anyways...

I can see your view... makes sense but here in Cali there are so many body shop fixed cars with no badges that I wonder if it was in a wreck, poser, or just a stealth lover.

I dont believe its an advertisement I believe its showing what you got. When I drop people like they are standing still, they know it was an E55k.

get them painted the same colour as your car, or paint them another colour that you are going to put on your car, example: my car is red, but i have tinted taillights and a black grill, so i got my merc star painted black. it looks awsome.

i would get them painted black, or red that would be fn awsome.

Hey Vic,

Don't you think it would be more fun if they thought you were an E320 and were scratching their head all the way home wondering what the heck just happened to them... hehehe.. I'm mean aren't I..

I wish our freeways and roads were clear enough for continous unsolicited maulings but Cali is packed at all hours, its crazy.

We don't need no stinkin badges... I say remove the fender badges keep the rear. I like to catch people off guard thinking it's an "ordinary luxury sedan". But then again, I drive a Pacifica.. Hoping to step up to the E55 (211) in about a year.

E55 Badges=good. I like stealth also. Keep the badges on to intimidate and get mods for total stealth. The best of both worlds. Kleemann gave me badges but I didn't put them on so I could conceal the additional power.

That is exactly what I'm doing. Getting my badges painted black.

Yes, i am the Biaaatch of this board!!

Thanks for the feedback, guys. Keep em coming. I haven't decided for sure, yet. I need to do it soon, if at all, so the glue does not set.
Oh, by the way. i guess I'm the one fool that had a white 993 Turbo with no turbo badge!! I've always done it that way, but only if the car is top line of the model.

hahaha.. Make it 2 fools.. My 96 Polar Silver 993TT was debadged also. I loved it when the vette guys would think I was a carrera with a wing on the back and then get smacked with 600hp of fury...

I debadge almost all my cars. I just dont like stickers/plaques on cars.

Your worst nightmare...
People that usually step up to a challenge know about cars...so as soon as they see your calipers and all rounded side skirts anlong with the Dual exhausts, they will know it's an E55. People that don't know about cars and can't tell certain specs will not be able to tell the difference of an E55 from a Shmuk.

Actually, I had quite a few people try to run the '05 debadged, to see if it was AMG. Vettes, Vipers, and Pcars mainly. Most thought I had a modded out E500/320. Not many car enthusiasts know about the calipers, and I know quite a few ones around here that have the exhaust on their E500.

I didn't get the car to show off. It just isn't my style, so I don't care about that. I do love coming accross another car nut and having some fun, though!

I agree. Only use the power when needed. I love the rice boys pulling up to you with completely tricked out Civics, Integras and Subarus asking to see the quad exhausts! :-)

Personally, I love the de-badged look. Besides, if someone only knows how awesome your car is by the badges, who cares what they think? The people who know anyway are the ones worth impressing....

personally, i think the e55 looks best with the cadillac STS-V's "supercharged" badges on its front flanks...
