E63 or CTS Super V?????
Sorry but it will be a long time until a American sedan can compete with the Germans at any price.

I can't believe that GM, even though they are the Kings of tacky plastic add ons, would release a sedan with such horrendous fender flares.
I like it
I would buy it
I would drive it
I like the flares. Wish MB could wake up and flare fenders -- maybe we could actually put a larger front tire on the car that way! An E46 M3 has fender flares and it swallows a 275 front tire with the right off-set (Dinan and CCW do it) but an E55 can only really swallow a 255 -- and that is on a good day too!
A 1992 500E had flares but oh heck it costs to much to actually make a special car these days. Much easier to just slip a motor and some wheels on to an E500 than it is to create a new version of the car with actual body and chassis upgrades!
Ok cant wait to see what everyone has to say! Have fun!

P.S. Of course the MB looks better and it clearly has a nicer interior but for what that CTS is trying to be... it does a wonderful job. I bet it will kick any AMG rump around the ring by a long shot. But it likely wont feel like new for very long. CTS's tend to get pretty rickidy very quickly. 3 year lease max!

Supposedly in 2008 when the CTS gets a redesign, the Super V will be a 6.2 liter supercharged V8 with 600 horses (Corvette Blue Devil engine).

That link includees speculation on the LS7 making it to the CTS line and no mention of the dream of a 6.2L blown V8. The Corvette Blue Devil has been on the minds of dreamers for years, but there is no evidence to suggest that it will be produced.

) but figured it was worth mentioning since I did see it written somewhere. This car will never be respected for what it is. It will only be known by what it can do.
I suspect that the main reason someone would choose an STS V/CTS V over a W211 E55 would be due to cost but I know there are some people that will/can only buy American.
I agree. GM will not make this niche car. They have too many other worries and you already have tuners like Mallet, that cater to the few that need excess power.
