I had my E55 AMGs delivered when I was work last week so I bugged out
early and picked up myself.
I live near Boeing Field. Within <5 mins from is are the hubs for USPS, UPS,
FedEx, DHL. Even if I miss the shipment I just call and can still get to them
before they close in the evening...about 7-8pm. It is sweet spot in terms of
location and I worry not about things being left on the porch. UPS will leave
but check this out....they'll enter via the back yard, give my GSD a cookie,
place the package near the back door and drag the 60 gal plastic recycling
container so that it casually covers the package.
They're so cool that I tip every few visits just because they're so
conscientious. I've even had crate of ammo delivered and they placed the
doormat over it to 'camoflauge' the box.
Most of the time, I just ask for signature delivery so that I can swing by
the hub and pick up myself. BTW...here is a pic of the UPS driver....
