look better in black than in Silver...

the wheels match much better...

I would still buy Silver, but the black looks hot.

No thanks. I'll stick to the 5.5L FI engine in the W211.

you know, its only a matter of time before someone here says @#$# it and has one of each. Maybe I'll get the wifey a 63 since my 55K2 will always be faster than the 63.

And while many of you love the new bigger blacker air damn, its not doing it for me. That's no shock, since I already didn't like the black on the E55 and did it all in silver. The gills are cute. Wonder if the same Carrrrllllssson lip I have would fit on that.

But all told, I'll take my front end over the 63s...

'03 G500, '13 G63, '17 GLS63,
I don't like the gills one bit, nor the rims. I do like the new gauges, but not necessarily more than my E55. All told, I wouldn't consider trading my E55 for the E63. I am getting my wife an ML63, so we'll see how it works with AWD. Regardless, it looks to be a great car, just not great enough to render the E55 obsolete.

I like the new front facia, very aggressive...

rear lip looks good...

not too crazy about the wheels, don't like the darker insides.... unless they are on the black cars...

don't like the side badge....

I've seen pics of the white gauges and the black, maybe the black is for the AMG.... I think I prefer the white though....

now we know why they have the E55 lease speical... when will the E63 be arriving?

Has it been confirmed the brakes are no longer electronic (SBC)?

hey, isn't that black-backed instrument console the one from the CLS55 IWC edition? looks nearly identical; you sure that's a photo of the new interior for the e63?

that's odd that they're reverting to that center console too. it looks and feels better if you ask me (i've got an 05 with the roll-up door thing), but the cup holder contraption is a total piece of crap, isn't it?

Personally, the new bumper doesn't do much for me; especially from the side, it's not as dramatic as the current one.

Love the mirrors; will it be possible to replace the current ones with those?

Ditto for the smoked taillamps. especially noticeable on the wagon; my wagon's taillights aren't as smoked as that. would that they were, though...

No offense, the model is a little outdated and I like new M5 better (except its interior). For exterior definitely M5.

Much better than the M5, both inside and out.

Yep I agree!! I think the tiny nostrils on the M5`s nose (the grill) is a real turn off with the rest of the large "in your face" front end. The E63 is a more balanced better looking design imo. No offence!

Thanks, will be interesting to test drive the new brakes.

Are you still on the fence? Originally thinking of the E63, but since we already have another large nice sedan, playing with the idea of a 997TT.

I hear the new 997TT with the MB automatic will even be faster than the manual version due to some tricky pre-boost programming!

Thanks for posting the pictures for comparison. Interesting never thought of the nostrils but now that you have pointed them out, you're absolutely right!

And I hate those 5-series headlights, totally pathetic. The 5 requires a facelift liek the 7. Same with the 6, for that matter.

If that was the IWC CLS instrument panel it would say IWC on it.

And it probably would NOT have an 8,000 redline, either.

personally, i prefer the plain ol' 5-series to the new m5, at least in the front-fascia department. i think they botched the job by having the outer ends of the lower-openings turn up; they make it look like it's got a silly grin on its face. the standard-issue 5 has a narrower, longer opening that turns down at the ends and executes the character of the rest of the front end (ie. the "angry" headlights) much more successfully.

with the newly updated e-AMG, it's not just because i've got an '05 that i'm saying this, but i think merc. made a "change for change's sake" on the lower front fascia, and while it refreshes the car's appearance some, i think the earlier version (55) is a cleaner execution. now, about those cool "striped" headlight covers, and the new mirrors... where can i get me summa dat?

you're certainly right about that. still, am i the only one here for whom the colors and typeface used for the numbering on the "new" panel look awfully familiar?

someone more technically gifted than i am oughtta put up some A/B comparison shots... then again, i don't really care enough to ask anyone here to do that on my accord; i've already got my '55, and the updated 6.3 model is strictly academic to me.

Those gills ahead of the front wheels are where the new oil coolers are located. Thay help with ventilation. Thats not just a cosmetic feature.

It is a new picture because the CLS 55 IWC did not have a 7000 rpm redline. Regarding the old center console, it was never dumped in Europe, only in the US.
