*** Paging: Guys with M20/M40 Blinder ***

Where is the best place to mount the 2 laser jammers in the front of the car? Should they be mounted behind the lower grill (the steel mesh area) or behind the upper chrome grille??

Could someone post a pic of the front of the car showing the locations of the 2 jammers.

Also, do any of you have the rear jammers mounted? If so, where?

Thanks in advance!

I would say behind the grill, it's chrome and between the headlights, the most tarketed areas for laser...

as for the rear, who has actually been lasered from the rear? I thought laser has to be used stationary, so it's not like they are following you with laser.... I guess you speed right by the cop, don't slow down, and he lasers your tag from behind......

The rear is a small percentage hit area but it can happen. If there is a laser trap on a highway overpass or on a road where they cant get a clean shot at you they might target you from behind?? Just guessing, but I would rather be protected and not worry about it.

In either area they should work fine. Just be sure to follow the spacing recommendations per the instruction manual. When I had my C43, I had them mounted in the lower area beneath the license plate and they worked perfectly.

You won't be disappointed with the Blinder system, definitely saved my *** a number of times.

I did an install several months ago that I think is quite good. I've installed units in numerous vehicles. I installed them on my 05' E55 behind the hood grill. I will take pictures as soon as the rain stops and I can get the car out of the garage.

Don't want to say anything negative, but those heads are likely WAY to far back (m)

From my experience and reading up on the issue, as well as speaking to various mfgrs, the heads need to not be quite so recessed, especially if you ever want to counter laser shots from an overpass. As installed, you are pretty much limited to dead straight ahead and not much else.

Actually, they are not as far back as they might appear. The grill slats have been cut in the rear to bring the heads as far forward as possible without destroying the grill. I do agree that any heads should be exposed as much as possible for the same reasons you state. It’s tough finding that happy medium between functionality and appearance.
