Well, being an 'orphan' with a 1999 C43 without a nameplate for more than 5 years, I now have an identity thanks to the signature of Guido Nordheim on my newly acquired 2005 E55 Kompressor.
As my lady and I drove it home the 1,900+ miles from Texas to New York, she was behind the wheel for awhile. (She regularly drives a Chrysler/Dodge 3.8L Grand Caravan (until we get her into a M-B GL?) and when she needs to pass a vehicle, she just punches the pedal right to the floor.) Due to Mr. Nordhiem's fine workmanship, imagine her surprise when she 'floored' the E55!!

I absolutely adored my '09 C63 but life changes and I regretfully started to look for a new-er ML63 to replace it with.
Guys, I am not exagerating but every night I went to bed wanting to cry because I had to let my baby go.
One day I found an ML63 online so I dragged my feet, asking God to give me a sign that I was doing the right thing....
The ML was mint and came with fullaintenance records and every possible option! However, I couldn't avoid to feel my heart breaking....somewhat similar to breaking up with a hot chic that you love but you know is no longer good for you.
I was looking around the ML and proceeded to pop the hood open and.....I'D BE DAMNED IF THE BUILDER OF THE ML ENGINE WASNT THE SAME DUDE WHO BUILT THE ONE IN MY C63!
"Philipp Waibel" .... you are the man!....thanks to YOU I decided to let my C63 go and got the ML63 instead.....dude, if you ever read this....you saved my marriage!..... while letting me haul *** and beat Cayennes in the process.

Hahahaha, you had me at "prayed for divine guidance" I totally feel ya. Awake and aware people often get signs from angels and HP on the journeys. Bless up on the new ML, drove one a few years back and dreamed of the day Id have the car with that engine, 2 years ago, I found mine, all because I am a writer and the person selling my 06 E55 wrote an ad that sounded like a writer wrote it; got for a great price, as you said all the amenities, 20k less than similar mileage and condition (near new) service records galore, car fax everything. His wife had to sell cos her new job as a med sales rep had her driving up n down east coast, not the car to do that in unless one is rich enuff to afford the beast as she sniffs at every passing gas station. But when you metal the pedal...OMG. I go to sleep wishing here was twice as much daylight, I hate going to sleep cos I cant drive while Im sleeping...lol

What are the chances that the same technitian who built the engine on my 09 c63 would also build the one on my "new" ML?....VERY SLIM at the least, however that was exactly what happened.
I would like to know if anyone had seen two AMG's whose engines were built by the same guy.
