I can see the steady rise of HP on the M5... not sure where the real powerband is, but if we take the last 2000 RPM of each car, they look pretty close HP wise.....

Blown '00 AMG E55, '87 928S4, Turbo/NOS '03 GSXR-1000, Blown '03 Night Train...
One thing that seems to have gotten lost in this thread is that the CL65 is the Mercedes-Benz answer to the M6, and to pretty much anything else out there. Another thing is that the 7 speed transmission going in the upcoming E63 cars will only hold up to 550 lb/ft of torque, the same will probably hold true on the new 7 speed M cars. So, while in stock form, the new E63 or M6 may be superior in performance to a current stock E55 at higher speeds, they can only handle a little more by way of mods. Whereas the current E55 transmission is capable of much more than stock power and a heavily modded one will be much more powerful than a maxed out, due to drivetrain limitations, E63 or M6. So don't trade in your W211 E55's just yet...

114.54 trap speed.... not even close to 121!

OK then:

Based on this...K2 E55's will not only beat an M6 in the 1/4...
it will also be pulling away thru the traps!!

Many K2's are doing 121-123 trap speed where-as this M6 is 114.5
