Hitting Rev Limiter after ECU Update
I made this point at the end of my post on the alleged I/C pump ECU update, but it is worth a separate thread, IMO.
Since I had the ECU reprogrammed by my dealer for a recall last month, I have twice hit the rev limiter in first when flooring it. It has only happened the first time I floored it in first gear after startup, and it does not happen in 2nd gear.
At least one other member posted that it has happened to him as well since that ECU update.
Anybody else?

Only when I wind out first gear. And only the first time I do it. In other words, it will happen once while I am driving, and then not again if I try to duplicate it. I will try it tonight on the way home and see if it happens.

YES! This happened to me in first, second AND third gears yesterday! After about 3 times the supercharger shut off completely. I took it easy for a few minutes and it came back. The car, for some reason, WOULD NOT SHIFT and it kept bouncing off/into the limiter.

Sounds like some E55 owners are experiencing the same issue we C32 owners are having. Power loss or supercharger shut-off when flooring it. It seems like the recall service caused the intercooler pump to die which in turn causes the supercharger to shut-off when it reaches a specific temperature. I wonder how many of you had this same issue. There are at least 10 C32 owners who complained in this forum about experiencing power loss after the recall service was done and I'm one of them!!!!.

I think the power loss is a separate issue. What I am complaining about is an apparent inability of the transmission to shift properly from first to second. It is shutting down because it is slamming into the rev limiter, not because it is overheating.
If anything, the car feels stronger and revs more quickly for me.
