Pics of my HRE's
Here are a few new pics I took today of my car with the HRE's finally on. Im taking it next week to get it lowered. Once the car is lowered and clean, I will post some better pics. Big thanks to Peter at Wheel Experts for the wheels and tires.

Very nice. But what's the deal with the rear lip? I mean it looks like you only have 2 inches? Are those 19x9F and 19x10R's? Should've gotten more lip on the rear. Also are you running PS2's?

They are actually 19x8.5, 19x10. The pictures dont really show the lip in the rear very well, ill try to get some better shots. I tink its like a 2.5" lip in the rear. Kinda wish I had gotten 20's but oh well. The tires are PS2's.

Nonetheless, still looks sweet... nice choice.

I measured the rear lip, and it looks like a 2 inch lip. How is the ride on your 20's cause now i'm thinking of going with the same sizes you have, but in the 841R. The fact that theyre 19's doesnt bother me as much as the fact that I don't have as much lip as I had hoped for.

Perhaps the 2" rear lip is due to the wheel's design? Peter told me he'd have the same specs for a HRE 540R (same style as my rim).

Akara1 - In case you're wondering my setup is as follows:
Front: 9" 245/30/20
Rear: 10.5" 285/25/20

On my 19's I run 19x8.5 and 19x10 and the rears have a 3.5 inch lip. Peter has done many 19 inch HRE setups so I am not sure what happened?

I dont know what heppened either. I was expecting 3 inches in the rear and 1.5 inches in the front. Instead ive got 2 in the rear, and like .5 in the front. Ill call Peter monday to get see what his thoughts are. And I keep thinking I should have gotten 20's.

It looks like you got each wheel shorted by about an inch. The fronts are very tight IMO. I love those wheels and if you got a smokin deal you probably can just live with it. Based on your pics I think they will look even better once the drop comes.

Ooh nice rims Ara. It really transforms the look of the car. With a drop, I think you'll be happy with the 19's. Plus you'll preserve somewhat of a sidewall to help with the straight-line traction. Would 285's fit back there without rubbing? Those tires look a wee bit narrow for those wheels.
Am I the only one here who doesn't get hot over deep dish wheels? On my American iron I have enough space to run 11" wide rims with a 6" lip in the back with no bodywork, but yet I've never had the urge to follow that trend. I know people judge the baller status by the size of the lip but IMO the super deep wheels look horrible from the 3/4 view. Just a personal thing though.
I LIKE THOSE WHEELS! Btw, if anyone asks just say you wanted the Murcielago look on the front wheels
That windshield is screaming for a tint.

I think I'd give them a call and find out what's up... while I'm not a deep dish guy either, the front just look abnormal... like the center is sticking out more than the edges almost. I think something is up... some mistake maybe...
sorry, not trying to be negative...

I acutally like the lip in the front... makes the rear look that much more agreesive. I believe my fronts are only 1" and not too much different than yours. I asked for that look.... IMO, look much better.

I actually like them alot. The fronts look sweet in my opinion. I think they look great and the drop will only improve it. Now your car is different cause you don't have a lip.
I have started to get tired of the huge lip thing. It looks sick, however every rinky dink wheel company is making cast crap to look like multipiece deep dish wheels. Kinda like every car seems to have red brakes now too. My favorite wheel style is BBS LM wich have a flat face and pretty conservative lip. I also like the Carrlsson style wheels with somewhat flush faces.

guys,
The setup on Ara's car is a 1.5 and 3", which is what HRE normally runs for the E55. All 840 series wheels have the thicker rim register which partially covers 1/2" of the lip. In the past we have done 3.5" rear lips but by request only, since there is a chance they will rub (this varies from car to car). I have done some and fit perfectly, and others have rubbed (like Redlinerobert's old E55).
Vic, I checked out your setup on your order, it is also a 1.5 and 3, but since the c-series does not have the thick register it will appear larger than an 840R series.
