Found this video somewhere...

Obviously amateur and spur of the moment, its interesting nonetheless for those of you wondering about going K2...

The 2nd video is the speedo of a K2 going to 100 with traction control blinking up past 40mph.

Thanks for "finding" that video. I really liked the silver mesh on the intake area of the K2 car . Were you able to find any other videos this weekend showing Kleemann vs stock? What would you guess was the gap when the cars let off and what speed would you guess they ran to?

The gap was at least 2-3 cars. When the K2 car let off, the stock car was about 10 mph slower than the K2 car. That K2 is a monster, it just keeps pulling. Also having gone for a ride in it, I can say that it has a lot sharper throttle response than the stock car. You can really feel the added torque.

After "viewing" this "random" video I am assuming that you are now of the thought that the K2 package is well worth the investment? Any thoughts you can share would be greatly appreciated.

It is kind of interesting how you can time the 0-100 speed using the video run time clock on the bottom (roughly 9.x seconds).

yeah, I was doing that like crazy... actually looking for a player that displayed tenths and 100ths of seconds. But alas, Premiere wouldn't open this type of MPG file. I should try it again with the smaller / converted WMV you see here.

With ESP on, that particular run battled, paused, battled, paused, etc... it was not a good launch at all (look at the 0-60 time in the high 4s). Maybe that guy will make a better one like that soon... get that 100 down into the 8s as it should be.

First off, thanks for your exhaustive search of the net to find that film. Well done!!!

Second, if the producer of that short is taking request, I would love to see a 60-100+mph run with the two cars starting side by side.

Yeah, let's not get too excited. A stock E55 can go from 0-100mph in 9.4 seconds. The first video was impressive though... See above link..

It appears to me that the K2 car only beat the stock car by 2 car lengths at most. Stock E55 must have let off the gas because he never passed the camera car....Do we know how fast they were going? I have seen some stock cars run a 1/4 mile in 12.1 seconds and K2 cars run the 1/4 mile in 11.7, 11.8 range, so which is probably only a couple of car lengths. ???

I think on average there is about 4/10's-6/10's difference in 1/4 from stock to K2 w/ LSD which is about 5 car lengths.

And that's exactly why the video was made... to show real life the difference between the two, say 0 to 95ish (which is where it ended). The silver car actually went by the camera braking... both cars did... which is why the black E55 never came into view. In other words, both were slowing towards the end.

The K2 has much more of a launch problem than stock. That's the first thing anyone will notice when they get a K2 done. If the LSD option actually improves traction, wow, I can't imagine what its like without it. Once bitten, though, it pulls like a train and passes the stock car steadily and predictably. But when you say "only" two cars, realize that you can stick an M5 and M6 before and after that E55 too. And a Z06 would be where? A tick in front of the K2? All of these 500hp range cars are all within a few car lengths. People that visualize an E63 "walking away" from an E55, for example, don't really get how silly the statement is. I promise you a K2 will time and again beat any stock E63. Now put that E63 in between the two of the cars in the video, and bingo, you can now see exactly how similar the cars will be. Stretch them out to 150mph and you'll see larger differences. But sub 100 driving, sorry... this is the difference you're paying for. Ironically, when you're in the cars, the difference is huge.

Best part: As Ara stated, you can completely see and feel the differences between the two cars. K2 is a great upgrade, and really brings the Beast out in an already wonderful setup ... its worth it in my opinion, hands down. A quick run coming towards the camera doesn't tell the whole story, of course. They'll get the video right someday!
