Aston Martin DB9 Cab. VS Stock E55

I had the opportunity to irk a guy and his blonde girlfriend last saturday on PCH in Huntington Beach. We were both already doing a good 65mph when I stepped on it and he was never able to keep up until I let off at 120mph. How do we stand against these Db9s from the dig and will their V12-er ever eat us up? If so, at what point or speed does this miracle begin to occur? I have to admit that it felt good to make him feel humiliated with his blonde barbie girlfriend next to him in the convertible. Also being that he was a cabriolet I was expecting him to have disadvantage anyways, but how would the coupes stand? Ive read that their manual model would do ok, but the automatic tranny would get eaten up by us.

I have to admit the Aston Martins are one of the cleanest rides out there right now. When I can afford it, I will definitely be adding one to my collection. Hopefully the Vanquish or the DBS. Anyone seen the DBS? And how would these stand up to the beast?

if you're stock, and have the speed limiter, he'll pass you once you get stuck at 155MPH..... other than that, no problem..... awesome car, but it's heavy.... I had a short run in with a DB9, from a roll I put a car on pretty quick and he let off.... nice pics!

I saw two of these last week, unfortunately I was driving my wifes X5. I never run into cars that I can race when I'm driving my beast.

How funny! Tonight I had this brand new jet black Aston Vanquish rev me up as I was trying to make a right... he passed me on the Topanga on ramp... I got on his tail as he took off and I had to keep off the gas so I wouldn't run into him.

They are SWEET looking for sure... but even a stock E55 won't have a problem with it ... He totally mellowed when I went around him...

Haven't read the whole discussion - but I will add this: the AM DB9 is one of the fastest-accelerating cars on the planet - usually ends up in the top-ten or top dozen or whatever in any ranking to 60 or 100 mph, and in quartermile times.

The E55 never makes the list - although the CLK DTM, SLR, SL55, and SL65 often do....

Well, the E is faster than the SL55... so the list is subjective... maybe it doesn't like looking at sedans as a candidate...

The Vanquish sounded perfect... I mean, dead on perfect. If I could have that sound, i'd be eternally thrilled. I could hear it over my car, and yet it wasn't screaming like a F430.

But twice he punched it and it only took a moment for me to start catching up, so he'd then slow / brake and wouldn't play further with me...

Now I just leave the teeny Sony digital camera in the car so I can possibly capture something cool at some point. This is a stupid video I'll delete, but at least you can hear what the sound is like through my car WITH my stereo on (my girl loves ATB, so forgive the music... she also loves hunting down high end cars and watching their reactions. Truely scary: watching her drive this K2... I've created a monster).

You may be right about the lack of testing with the E55....

Vanquish sounds great and looks great -- but is impractical as a GT, let alone as a daily driver.

The DB9 is far more practical as a GT or daily driver, has the sexy looks, and sounds fantastic as well....
