There are no AMG Badges on the horizon. There are no existing designs in the appropriate size that can fit the space milled out in the standard badge, and I am a machinist, not an artist... I can't create the design myself, and the old Affalterbach fruit salad design is UGLY, imo.

Those AMG badges look so plain. I personally like something with the star in it.

With the white star flat badge, the front of the car says "Mercedes" but in a sedate way. Not many people know what "AMG" is, unless they are into cars.

DFWdude, how many of your badges have you sold to AMG drivers? My guess is quite a few...

Yes, quite a few. It's a race -- "neck to neck" -- between the AMG owners and the guys in the C-Class forum.

Several AMG guys have bought lately. It would be nice to see some pictures of installed badges in this forum. Are you guys shy?

I was going through my statistics over the weekend, and realized that about 20% of drivers with my WHITE STAR Flat Badge are E55 and E63 owners. So, this is a shameless bump to remind you that I have resumed selling my WHITE STAR Flat Badge. For information, please contact me at DFWdude@tx.rr.com.

Those are pretty ugly. Usually the debate is over having a flat badge compared with an upright star.

Right, and by the way, yours are the best quality that I have seen. Glad to see you are making them again.

Thanks for the nice words. It's gratifying to see so many members satisfied with their WHITE STAR Flat Badges.

I just picked one up from DFWdude. Quick service and installed in a few minutes. I was concerned about someone grabbing and bending the upright emblem. You should like the flat one with the white star. A quality item...

I've had my White Star Badge for nearly a year. It still looks great.

E63 Owners

There is one issue I see with E63 owners. There is already a badge on the grill of the E63. If you get the "white star" badge for the hood you will have somewhat of a duplicate set of badges. Don't get me wrong, the "white star" badge is a quality item, this is just something to consider when making your selection of a "flat hood badge".

I agree - on my S63 I would rather have a flat AMG badge rather than duplicate stars a few inches apart.. Maybe DFW Dude can make an alternate badge?

I spoke to him. i was looking to expand the brad and he seems pretty content with his current project. I also contacted Mario for some bulk pricing. We may can work something out. I like that one the best for now.

Yes, would like to see a flat "AMG" badge that is easy to install and that will self align. Will have to be original and not a copy of Mario's.

DFWdude what do you think?

This thread is titled for those with E55s that do not have the double badge issue. As for E63s, aftermarket grilles do not have the badge in the grille, so for those wanting to replace the standard grille with the CL type, then the WHITE STAR Flat Badge is a viable option.

Not going to happen. For the thousandth time...

1) There already exist 3-4 Affalterbach AMG badges, ranging in proce from $15 - $150. I have no intention of adding another.

2) I feel a loyalty to the dozens of AMG owners who already display my work on their cars and like them just fine. I have no intention of creating another AMG badge that obsoletes theirs.

3) Mercedes Benz will import less than 2,000 W211 AMGs this year. Among those, maybe 100 owners will be members here, and probably less than 20 would want to replae their upright badges at all. Why would I create a product for such a small market? The WHITE STAR Flat Badge is generic to all cars with the upright star, not just AMG vehicles.

4) IMO, the old Affalterbach "fruit salad" is UGLY. And the ////AMG block logo is not much better. I won't make a product for which I have no passion.

Let's put this to bed please. Those who insist on something other than what I offer can pay Mario $150 for his mass-produced work that costs him mere pennies. At least there is a couple hours of custom machine work in my product that makes each WHITE STAR Flat Badge unique.
