More Steve/MBenzNL Mods!!
Steve was back in town last week and he did some work on my car..
He added the TV Tuner and the power trunk closer. TV Tuner is awesome and I just love the power trunk closer.. I told Steve I want all the available options so next visit we will do some more!! Of course, my friend John (jparch on the board) is hard to keep up with so we have a little modding competition going now.. I think he's ahead by 2 mods so far!! (Damnit..)
Remember John... If we were counting total car mods (engine included) you would be left in the dust... har har har..
Now that I have 2 Auxiliary video inputs I can finally do some cool things I've always wanted.. I will be installing a CarPC soon and putting in some video cameras (front grille cam, rear bumper cam, inside car cam).. Need to find a good video source switcher and video recorder now..
Also, he did a few neat things with STAR Diagnostics:
- Enabled the door lock/unlock chirping so that when you hit the remote it beeps 3 times on lock and 1 time on unlock. Love it and dont know why MB didnt make this option available in the car's menu system.
- Disabled the automatic raising of the headrest every time you move the seat backward! Another annoyance that really bothered me which he got rid of.
- Disabled the turn signal blinker from blinking 3 times whenever you tap the turn signal stalk. Now it only blinks once!
John (jparch) hosted it at his warehouse again this visit.
We made a deal with Steve that next time he vists we are gonna duke it out at the indoor karting track!! hehehehe...
John: You better practice buddy!!
Yin: You cant lose your license at the indoor karting track so no excuses for going slow!!

My car is at the MB dealer and I just called my tech to have him enable this feature! Thanks for the "reminder".

You are best to email him and ask for pricing. His prices chang based on the exchange rate.. Remember, he buys everything in Europe and then sells in USD.

Vic ...it is addicting...gonna have to figure out a way for Steve to be more comfortable while he is in the trunk !! I walked up to Jokers car and there were about 5 feet of legs hanging out of the trunk and the rest of him was in there somewhere !!! I'd love to know what other cool stuff can be done in Star !! Spill it !!!

Oh.. Did I mention that I now have access to a complete Star Diagnostics machine now? Who knows what interesting things I can come up with while I go through the THOUSANDS of submenus in Star.
My buddy just bought one so we are gonna have ourselves a mini-gettogether and learn what this baby can do.

I'm just messing with you...
The only other options that you can mess with are:
- You can enable/disable DRL
- You can enable the # of liters of fuel left in the tank.. Usually on that screen it only tells you # of kms remaining until empty. With this other option enabled you get both.
