The Eagle has landed!!! The Eagle has landed!!!

For those that are wondering what the heck I am talking about, that is code for: The first 10 airboxes have landed in Toronto from the Composites shop..

I will be doing an inspection over the weekend and am waiting for the custom packaging to arrive (should be here Monday).. I'll post the first 10 names of the lucky recipients during the weekend..

James, buddy... I know it's been a long wait.. Believe it or not, MY airbox is not even on my car yet.. LOL.. I am waiting for the rubber inserts to arrive from the manufacturing company we hired.. I have my airbox but I can only stare at it for now until the inserts arrive.

They should be shipped shortly and the remaining 23 airboxes will follow right after this shipment..

I'll get some firmer dates once I get confirmation from the composites shop.

All of you guys with 80mm TBs... Thanks so much for your patience.. I know its been a long haul, but, hopefully once you get this in your hands it will be all worth it.

One of the reasons for this long development is because we engineered this product to work with a variety of TBs and various models of cars... Also, I am very picky and wanted to make sure everything was perfect before I approved anything.

This will payoff in the long run as an owner of this fine product because as you upgrade your car, the airbox will continue to be part of your car.. (Unlike the competitor products where you have to scrap the airbox and purchase another one).

Victor,

Would you be so kind as to supply the addresses of the fortunate 10, so that we can stalk the FedEx driver for deliveries!

Hey Victor I forget - the filters you supply do they need to be oil coated ?

I got this from a local tuning shop re oil impregnated filters.

"Be careful that the air box doesn't contain an oil impregnated
filter. They are a bloody menace. With high ambient under bonnet temperatures the oil becomes very light and is drawn into the intake. No problem except it contaminates the surface of the meter that monitors air flow into the car. If the filter with the box is oil impregnated try and wash it out before installation."

Problem is the K&N's only need a little bit of oil after you clean it. Most people will use a larger than suggested amount of oil to oil their filter (we're visual animals after oil, if we can't see the oil with our eyes, there aren't enough). There has been reports on failed MAF sensors due to too oil poisoning the MAFs.

If you use the oil judiciously, there shouldn't be much problem.

i just throw away the old filters, and buy new ones.. they aren't that expensive...and you don't really have to worry about oil

The filters will be pre-oiled... Dont worry about the oil contaminating anything.. That is only an issue with cars that have MAF .. our cars are MAP based.. And the only time the oil is an issue on MAF cars is if you OVER-OIL them...

If it was an issue, I would never put it on my own car..

I went down to inspect the airboxes, the packaging boxes, the air filters and eveything else yesterday... The custom airfilters I had made are coming from Europe and they are currently in customs. They have an expected arrival date for this afternoon..

I didnt want to ship out the airboxes alone and then resend filters later so I have been waiting for the filters to clear customs.

If the delivery arrives this afternoon, I will be going down tomorrow to get them out of here..

When I was there inspecting the airboxes I did notice that instead of sending me 10 airboxes for the STOCK TB like they told me, they ended up sending me half for STOCK and half of them for 80mm...

This ends up being a little more fair since alot of the guys that have been waiting since last year for this product all have 80mm TBs..

So now, we'll have a good sampling since we'll have stock guys & 80mm guys trying it out.
