I will probably go again on the 10th of September. This is probably also a good rain date, should the weather not be nice to us.

I WILL TRY TO MAKE THAT ONE............JUST GOT THIS C32 ABOUT A MONTH AGO AND NEVER BEEN TO A TRACK AT ALL. SO A LITTLE INTERESTED IN KNOWING WHAT TIMES I CAN DO. I AM CURRENTLY RECOVERING FROM A STROKE BUT CAN DRIVE QUITE WELL. HOPEFULLY MY REACTION TIME IS NOT SUBDUED BY THE STROKE.

Crappy weather

Weather.com showed rain every hour from 6am till 2pm when it changed to T-storms in Morocco.

I'm bummed.

Wow, first time dragging, had a great time. At first, I was a little intimidated by all the hardcore "top fuel" like cars there, but hey, I don't think I did too bad... Thanks to Wayne for organizing the event- the tent, food, hospitality were great. I mean, this guy had his own pit crew and caterer (his friends were great- nice enough to grill) Also. It was also great to meet the other MB draggers. Luckily it didn't rain.. that probably scared some people away. We're doing it again on Sept 10.. Looking forward to it. Oh yeah.. My best run was 13.99 sec @100.9 mph 2005 CLK500 19"bremmas (heavy), green filters, supersprint exhaust.

Ya, the chance of rain scraded me off. It wax drizzly by me and I didn't want to spend 4 hours driving to get rained out at the track. Glad you guys had a good time. Let's see if Sept is a go.

I want the "LOWEST E.T." trophy returned to the rightful owner.....I ran a 12.41 @ 112.5 right after most of you left. On street tires

The density altitude for the track was close to 2000 feet. This calculates out to a low twelve.

The funny thing was that the DR's didn't help my 60'......I kept pushing throught the lights to miserable 2.0's. A swap to the street tires netted a 1.80 and the subsequent 12.41.

Video and pics to follow.

There will be a rematch on the 10th of September.

ChicagoX, I wish I would have stayed for your last run. When I see you next time I will bring you the trophy. What do you think was the big difference that allowed you to turn such a good time? Earlier we all ran around 12.80. With a little cool down we ran 12.60. Did you manage to cool your car off more for the fast run? This is exactly what I was talking about Sunday. If we have to let these cars sit for hours before they run good times, will the Renntech or Kleeman upgrades not be as effective when the car is hot. Maybe next time we can attract some of the modified guys.

sfkarp: I think the difference was a bit of cooling and a much better launch. For some reason, I was able to brake-torque a bit higher without pushing through the lights. The result was a 1.802 60' and the sunrooof slamming backwards! I actually launced harder on the street tires than the DR's.

I want that trophy !

AMG Rider: I'm glad everything was to your liking. I can't wait to see how you'll run with the K2 parts!!!

US 41 dragway website schedule says 9/10/2006 "Midwest Buick Challenge". Are we going to be able to still race that day?

Ours would have said "Midwest AMG Challenge" if more folks would have shown up....

J/K.

Usually the club events don't interfere too much, but I'll call Denny to confirm.

You're Welcome. Al is top notch over there. I'm not sure if the black E55 is a member. I believe I have talked with the owner of the car you saw. Did it have CCW 500 wheels (5 spoke billet aluminum)?

Yep, that's the fellow. I have vrus's old rim, he saw them on my car and bought a set. Gotta say awesome rims! We'll have to get him to the track too. I know he wanted the Kleemann install before running.
