Thanks Mark. Looks GUD! It seems that the interior stayed the same. I like the black/white dash with the 200mph speedo! Did the headliner change at all?

Alcantara headliner is still the same, the seats are much better & the gear shifter is different.

WOW!, I take a day off, and the whole MB world falls apart.

Mark, like myself, is trying to make a living by providing value to his customers. And although we both work for competing dealers, in the end everybody on this board benefits from us supplying pictures, information and feedback.

At this time I have not had a chance to drive a 63. I was off on Thursday, cars came in on Tuesday and were not ready to be driven until today.

As soon as I get a chance to get behind the wheel, I will post my impressions.

Having driven and tuned numerous 55s, I will be honored to give everyone a feedback on 63s.

Over the next several days it will happen and I will post my feelings on it ASAP.

As always, thank you for listening.

Vadim.

Marcus...man you're killing me!!!

First of all... thanks for you're input, just because you sell these beauties doesn't mean you can't also be enthused. Keep 'em coming!

I loved seeing picts of real US spec. E63's. But as good as your pictures are they are not tellin me the one thing that I'm most curious about...

Did they ship with the old clamstyle center armrest, or the new roll top rig? The center armrest is covered in your pictures frustrating me to no end....

That's a big deal for me as I loved the old style armrest on my 04 E55. It's also a big factor in my buying decision. Do you have any picts of the center armrest?

I really do not like the dark painted center sections of the new rims, they'd look alot better if they were cut out vs. painted. Maybe the TT will get those.

I do not like the all black gauges

The upper part of the seat backs around the shoulder are now made of alcantara and I think they will get shinny, stain easily and not wear well.

I like the perforated leather on the sterring wheel, but the style of the wheel is exctly the same as my old 04 CLK500

I do not like the new chrome fog lights...they just look tacky

I like the rear spoiler (I have a source for these for the 55's, they are replica's and should finally be available in Aug)

Not too sure about the giant chrome strip across the rear deck or the CLK style tail light design

Looks like this one has Conti's too...

Either way I'm sure the 63 will have some advantages over the 55 and visa versa...did someone say torque

The car I saw had the "roll top rig".

Question: has the E63's 7g Geartronic been re-programmed with the paddles so that it will hold the gear in manual mode? Or does it still upshift automatically as it nears the redline?

I've had the chance to drive an S8 and in the manual mode, it will hold the gear; hopefully the AMG programmed gearbox will too.

VADIM's E63 review.
one thread posting I don't want to miss. Can't wait.

Perhaps when you have a chance to drive it, a fellow E55 member can tag along to compare.

No it won't, its completely at the top of the seat......not the side bolster.

Alcantara is not high maintenance.

What stains are going to get on the upper portion of the seat?

thanks for the pics. I don't like the gauges or the wheels much. Seats look nice. Is the center console butterfly or roll-top?

Overall, it looks great, IMO. I agree, though, those wheels with the painted spoke center, look cheesey - they would have to go! Thanks for the pics.

Waiting for Vadim's review.

It looks to me like the paddle shifters are just a piece of plastic stuck on to the exsisting buttons. Regardless I love it!

Can't wait till someone makes them aftermarket.

Just my opinion, but paddle shifters should be on the column, not attached to the wheel.

I don't like the new wheels as well as the '06 wheels. I like the gauges. The steering wheel looks thicker, a good thing.

I'll keep my '06.

When reaching for the shoulder belt...Alcantara is not high maint when it is black and not rubbed against much. My headliner is alcantara and I would not trust that stuff for wear, it's almost just like suede.

Do you currently drive an E55 and/or do you have a 63 on order?

What exactly is "alcantara" anyway - does anybody know? Just a fancy word for nubuck or suede-like fabric?

Not nubuck but a pseudo suede type material

It's a fake suede though (as you said), its very durable......only place it isn't the "greatest" is on the steering wheel.

Alcanatra wheels have been known to shred over time.

63 on order.

I just sat in my 55 and that area of alcantara on the 63 is right where both my shoulders rub on the upper seat back.

On another note, how did/do you like the M3?
