Wild new fad?! Top speed pix. Post 'em!
With no comment as to the social consequences of this becoming a huge international fad, post em! We all have cameras on our cellphones, right? I couldn't resist putting mine to use while answering the 'I wonder how fast I can go' question in the '05 E55. Also my first attempt to post a picture on the board; hope it comes through. Didn't have much space, but I still managed to get her up there.
Felt nothing, car is rock solid, stable as a normal ride @ 85. Brakes hauled her down to normal speeds effortlessly. Boy does the land move by quickly at high speeds...
Let's just assume that I was on a restricted race-course with a helmet, roll cage, and fire-resistant suit, btw.

Nice. 165 is was my tops in my E55. Any more and you just run out of road as you're covering so much ground. It's tough to do alone. I gotta get some friends to help out and "secure" the road up ahead - Block off an on ramp for a few seconds, look out for cops etc.

I gunned in the 430 on the open interstate since traffic was a spec in the distance. It locked at 130 mph and I caught up to the traffic up ahead in the blink of an eye. I can't imagine the ft/sec at 150+ (Friday, don't want to do the math).

Heeeyyyyy wait a second. You're right. Car was in 4th for sure, but how could it have hit 197....what gives?? I saw the dyno speed myself...even got camera phone vid somewhere. Hmmmmmm......

Yeah, I think that with momentum they can go a tick over like Derek hitting 193 but guess I was wondering if it's physically possible for the E55 to hit 190 in 4th gear.

But you're right - there's just not enough room to get to real crazy speeds as you will catch up to everything really fast LOL. That's why I mentioned earlier you would really need to get some assistance and assure no one else is ahead not to mention cops.
