E63 minor complaint/question

Perhaps I am doing something wrong, but I notice that there is a green idiot light constantly on in the instrument panel whenever I have the lowbeams on. It is just like the blue highbeam indicator light, but green instead.

I can not figure out its purpose browsing through the owners manual. Why is this green idiot light always on?

Take your lights off of auto and it should turn off.

I think a lot of manufacturers are beginning to do this... green means low, blue means high... instead of the blue=high, nothing=low...

Its like that on my new RV, ironically enough... I may be wrong, but like you I can't figure out how to get my green light off either...except by changing to high beam. I imagine I'll merely block it out over time...

Doesn't matter on my 06. I don't use the auto headlights.

If your lights are on, so is the green light. Doesn't matter if you're in auto or not. I like it because in auto, I'm often curious if the lights are on or not. On my old 540 I had to hold my hand under the rearview mirror to see if the little LED's were on.

I look to the navigation's change of colors to determine if the lights are on or not.....

No, they're independent. Just because the screen changed from day to night doesn't mean the headlights have come on.
