M5 vs E63 AMG, AUTOCAR Finally tests the two ... guess whos quicker?
ok got this from e60.net the times are kinda wiered but here it goes.
The e63 amg
finally got my hands on this issue of autocar
0-62mph (tested may 17th)
m5: 4.6s
e64: 4.3s
0-124mph (tested june 11th)
m5: 12.4s
e63: 12.1s
they also state
"The E63 Speed sensitive steering has meatier weighting and more feel than an m5's, and with the aid of traction electronics the E63 can make quite ludicrously rapid progress on twisty roads"
Anyways here a picture i took with my phone , as my scanner is not working... apologies but hopefully you should just make out the time from 0-62
I mean 12.1 thats way too fast, but still that means e63 is still faster?

also did you know that The M5's standing km time 22.7 And The new ML63 Standing KM is 23 flat, now take 1000 pounds of the e63 and i dont even know how fast that would be.

thats strange
look at this article from autobild they have different numbers at least the E63 ran 12.7s at the quarter mile faster than the M5 which took 13.14s,,....
but the 0-200 KM which is 0-124.27 MPH
E63 at 15.0s
M5 at 13.5s

even those numbers i wouldn't really believe
there is something wrong i have raced the E63 and he didnt stand a chance if it really runs in the low 12 to 124MPH then i shoudn't have been able to pass him, cuz the S65 runs 0-124MPH in 13.3s, so what the hell is going on can't anyone just ends this story with some real number?!

I dont get it - I drove the B5 before I bot the E55 and I tell you its day and night ... the E55 is wayyyy faster - at least by seat of pants shove you in your seat type pull. When I test drove the B5 I had an old E39 M5 hanging all the time not far in my rear view mirror.
Also they would not let me pull off max throttle in first gear - they said "it could damage the gearbox" LOL !!!!!!
I just dont know what to think ... the E55 is the most brutal sedan I have ever driven - period! P.S. still need to test an M5 (E60) and the E63 (13-16th October is my test date.)

German mags have diff results...M5 win there...
Also I think AMG are not that stupid and woudnt make E63 slower then E55...as BMW M woundnt make M5 slower then E55...
One thing I wish AMG would of done is introduce LC control on thier cars...it works awesome on M5...jumps like 4wd car...
