Calibre or Valentine V1?
which one do you guys prefer?
I was looking at a V1 and having it hardwired and then saw the K40 set up all bluetooth completely stealth. They also offer a portable unit and wanted to know everyones thoughts.
Or if anyone has done any stealthy installs with the V1 post pics and details.
thanks

i don't understand the big deal about a stealth radar detector if you're not in a state that outlaws them. save yourself a few hundred dollars and forgoe the intall of stealth that's not needed. it's not like the v1 is bulky, in the way, or an eyesore, and you can take it from vehicle to vehicle if need be.
now if you're running an active jammer then by all means, go stealth.

K40 is a POS, they are overpriced and their radar detection is about as good as a Whistler or Cobra radar detector. There is a video circulating that shows that the new K40 can't jam a single laser gun on the market today.

Battery operated radar detectors will never have the range of a corded one and battery operated detectors can't detect K POP or Ka POP radar.

Radar used:
Kustom Golden Eagle, 35.5 GHz Ka band radar gun
Results in number of feet from source at which the detector alerted.

"The SOLO S2's "High-Efficiency Power Management" is hardly rocket surgery. It saves the two AAs by putting the sentry to sleep more than 85 percent of the time. It just switches off the power-using detector circuitry.
A sleeping sentry can't possibly give early warning when radar is used in the instant-on mode. And it gives up all hope of detecting the POP mode."
