Torque Limiting?
Sounded great until we all found out later that Volvo was limiting the torque in first and second gear to keep from blowing the tranny. Third gear and up, the torque spec was correct. The manual tranny car made the full 295lbs in all gears.
What are the chances that somebody at MB was worried about the new 7 speed cooking itself, so they backed off the torque. The auto Volvo's were a full second slower to 60mph.
A dyno test should show this.
IPD sells a non limiting "chip" for the Volvo's, but you have to sign a waiver to get it.
??????????????????
i doubt any of the tuners have even begun to play with the 63's yet to find out what the setting are.

Somebody should do a dyno run to confirm HP and TQ numbers in all gears.

..............if you are talking about torque limiting, you may have forgotten that the most recent instance of this by a major car manufacturer is BMW. All agree now that this was done to the North American versions of the M5. M5 has a NA V10 engine.
