Man, do I need DR's!

It's finally cooled down below 100 degrees at night here in Vegas so I decided to G-tech my car. It was still over 90 degrees and the only empty road I could find was pretty dusty. Regardless, I wanted to get a feel for how it would run since I haven't had a chance since I bought it in May. Anyway, my best time was a 13.0, which is horrible considering the mods I have done. The good news is that the trap was 119 mph. The 60' was about 2.3 so I figure with some DR's on a prep'd track I should be in the 11's. Any comments?

I purchased my 06 E55 from a RennTech certified dealership so I had them put a stage 5 on it (pulley, ECU, headers, throttle body and airbox) I've been itching to dyno and run it but it's been too blasted hot here. It will get some serious track time this fall. It is so strong from about 40 mph (that's when the tires finally hook up and the ESP light goes off) to 140. I really believe that if I can trim a half second off my 60' time I should be in the 11's and that's at Vegas altitude. I would have loved to go to the Cali event but have a wedding I have to attend that weekend in Utah.

Hey Rudy -- let's meet up for a quick run? I have some freetime on my hands this evening. Are you available?

I see how it is. 4-4:30, in the heat of the day. You have the I/C mod and I don't. JK. I can make that time. I'll PM you.

SL 65 AMG and E63s AMG
Rudy, I have been driving around with my Vericom and practicing getting off the line at every light.

Contrary to everybody around here I have been very successful at quicker starts on PS2s just by practicing 0 to 60 runs with traction control off. This AM when the temp was 80 F I did a run of 4.3 with significant wheel spin. I have no doubt I can knock another tenth or two off with some fine tuning of the launch. Try it you might find it helpful. BTW mine is bone stock.

Oh sure, put the pressure on! To me, it's about the thrill and fun of it. I'm not the kind that gets all bent out of shape if I don't win. I'm anxious to see how the K2 runs. I've heard nothing but great things about it. By the way, I can arrange for a wingman if you want video.

I used to launch my Camaro with traction control off but I had 315 DR's so it wasn't too hard to hook up. I've tried a couple of launches with no ESP but those stupid, skinny 265 Conti's just spin like metal roller skates. I've had better luck trying to feather the gas with ESP on. I guess I'll have to keep trying.

Definitely... a wingman with a camera would be cool.

Where are we going to meet? You know any good spots?

I PM'd you my cell phone yesterday. Give me a call. I actually have two people who would be willing to film. That means I could get beat from multiple angles. If you didn't get my PM let me know.
