63 Finally arrived, It broke down after 30 miles
Been waiting for my car to arrive for 3-4 months now... Delivery from Germany to my home. First i saw the front and was very impressed, then i saw the Colour (pics to be posted when possible) and i was very very happy. Here's the sad story for all my fellow members. Drove down to my local coffe shop to show the boys, took them for a cruise and all was good.. Then drove down to meet another friend who was approximately 20 miles away. all was good until he sat in the car and tried to start the engine to hear what it sounded like...... Then it happened, he looked at me and said 'Have u ran out of petol man' me puzzled as hell said Ofcourse not, was delivered with full Tank..... it would start for 5 seconds or so with revs under 1000 RPM and switch off again.. tried many times and to pump throtlte but Nothing,,, would just turn off. Engine just struggled to stay on. one of my good friends said maybe a fuse, maybe fuel pump but we're all puzzled and not happy. Waited for 3 hours for truck to come and drop off my BRAND NEW 63 to the dealers to tell me why just why why why my Brand new car had to do that to me on my first day with it..
My first post and bad news, wasn't supposed to be like that at all. Could you guys enlighten me ....

with all these stories and reviews, this is beginning to sound like a amg 63 smear campaign!
i'm sorry to hear about this. keep us up to date on how it turns out. i would be pissed if that happened to me after 30 miles. another member on the board had something similiar and it turned out to be bad fuel.

This is absolutely rediculous. Ive driven the 63 and loved it and ever since its been out I've been saying we should all give it some time to see what happens, but this? THIS? My friend, I'm pissed FOR you! This shouldn't happen whether or not your car is a Mercedes or a Toyota! Its absolutely unacceptable. Same thing happened to a members CLS63 as well. The 63's are officially on my sh*t list. AMG should stick to building F1's.

Sounds like high quality premium fuel will be an issue on these cars. Instantly I was thinking bad gas, but it came from the dealer so who knows?? Keep us posted.

Bad Gas?.....It would have to be 50% water....even 87 octane would at least run. Must be fuel delivery.

Yeah you're probably right. Just going off MHK's recent 63 troubles

As soon as I got on the freeway, I was getting ready to open her up. I pressed on the accelerator ------ instead of taking off, the engine shuttered, and began to loose power. The check engine light then came on.

MB sourced the problem....bad fuel. This is the same issue I heard some 911 owners have (althougth it has not happened to my 911).
I will get the car back when I get back from Vaca and see for myself.

Sorry to hear that, funny, i had a similar issue when i bought my Viper, drove it off the dealer lot, about 20 minutes after i stop to show a friend in a parking lot, and the car did not start. I too had to wait about 2-3 hours to then see my 20 minute old car go on a flatbed back to the dealer. Turned out it was something in my ECU and i didn't get the car back for about 6 days.
I hope yours is fixed soon.
