Well, it's NEW to me! I know it took a while to join the E55 team but I finally made it!

Here's what I got:

'05 CPO, 10K miles, Silver / Black for $72K
-Premium, Comfort, Lighting, Rain Sensor Packages
-KelessGo
-Electronic Trunk Closer
-iPod Hookup
-Full Warranty 'til 2010 or 100K miles

So pretty much loaded except for Parktronic and Panoramic Roof. It also is wired for iPod!

Coming from a C55, I thought I wouldn't feel much difference but boy was I wrong! It's freakin' FAST! I LOVE this BEAST!

So here's the story of what happened yesterday while driving to meet the private owner...

The initial deal fell through (private owner - he tried changing the deal at the last minute) so I said "No Thanks and good luck with your sale" I was VERY frustrated to say the least so I told my wife that I'm driving home in an E55 today (since I was already half way to LA!). So I pulled up all of the MB dealerships closest to me (sort by distance) and clicked on details (which gives you the # and address) and started making some calls as I'm heading into LA. I talk to a guy at MB of Calabasas who says he has 3 E55's (2 '06 and 1 '05). So my wife and I arrive and see an E55 sitting in the showroom which was Silver/Black (which is the combo I'm looking for). So we head in and it turns out this car has everythig I want with LESS miles than the other one I drove down for, plus this thing is in PERFECT showroom condition. When the dealer went to get the keys, I looked over every inch, inside and out and this thing was perfect!!! The only options it didn't have were Parktronic and Panoramic roof - but definitely not a deal breaker on either one. So they made me a deal and I bit. I know I paid a little more than I would have with the private owner (who wanted $70K) and what others have posted but I got the dealer to come down almost 5K and after what I went through over the phone with the private owner I was tempted to get the E63 if I couldn't find the right E55 from a dealer. Don't get me wrong, I would love the E63 but I just can't pay that much for one right now and wanted to take advantage of the discounts on the E55's.

So it all worked out and I'm VERY happy! I'll be posting pics here in a little bit. Until then - I've got some drivin' to do tonight!

Also! My E55 doesn't have the AMG foot pedals. I pointed this out to the dealer but he said I can get them added on but he thought the '05's didn't come with them. My '05 C55 has them. So I want to get these added on as I think they look better. Not a big deal.

I loved going to look at the GL450 the other week in my E55..... a few months before, I had gone back and forth about purchasing an E55 from them, and the guy was stiff, didn't take me seriously and wanted WAY too much.... so he comes out and see's the E55 and says, huh, so you did buy one..... I'm like, "oh.... this thing here? It's a great car, eh?..."

my CPO 2005 didn't have the foot pedals either... it also didn't have the AMG floor mats.... I knew the car should have the AMG mats, so I had them order them..... I didn't know about the pedals until later.... seems like some 2005's have them, some don't.....

 

congratulations, i almost went to Calabasas Motorcars also to get my E55 as well, but got a new one at MBLN instead

Congrats!! I am still a little sad about giving mine up but its getting better every time i drive the new car. Enjoy in good health and have fun with the mods, wheels etc.

I think they are upgrading the uploading of pictures if i am not mistaken. On the main page where it says Annoucement it says "Image Upload Feature Disabled Temporarily"

Sounds like a blessing in disguise the private deal fell through. Congratulations on your new car and good luck selling your C.

Thanks Carl! Yeah, I'll have to really watch my speed now that I'm driving with more than 100HP! The day after I bought the E55, the mailman delivered a nice present...I received the letter back from the court stating my ticket was dismissed!!!!!
