This is absolute Bull$*** from AMG

I had my 2004 E55 reflashed 3 weeks ago. Even though I told the service person not to do the flash, when I picked up the car, there it was, the freaking air pump recall had been done. When I inquired why they had done it after we agreed not to, she said that the mechanic had done it without checking the service order. As soon as I drove it out of the dealer, I noticed the car felt way down on power. I was stuck in traffic all the way home so I could not really open it up. Since this is not my daily driver, I had not had the chance to really test the car untill today. I took the car to the track( a friend had it rented for road racing, the timing equipment was not on) and my fears were confirmed. Even with the traction control off, I almost could not get the wheels to spin. Mind you, this was not even in the 1/4 mile start. this was on the backstraight of the track which was lightly dusty. The car felt very slow, it would almost get to 7000rpm before shifting, but it felt like it was out of breath. This is not the same car that I had a month ago. This does not feel like 20-30 hp, it feels like it's 50-70 hp down. I don't see how MB can deny what they are doing and it strikes me as ridiculous for them to think that performance minded enthusiasts such as us would not notice it. If the car had performed this way when I test drove it, I would not have bought it. We need to figure out a way to get MB to admit the truth, and get us our freaking HP back.
Best Regards to All
Victor

Try the ECU reset. If not, give it 500 miles and try again. Your power will return. Just relax a second and don't get so caught up in the hype.

What year? That makes all the difference at this point.

I honestly think the car has to re-adapt after that reflash. My car was flashed before I bought it so I will never know if I am missing anything. My SA is a gearhead and he insists on completely re-adapting the car after any ECU flashes. I don't know exactly what "re-adaptation" is !!!

I agree with the others and think My car (2004)has put the reflash concerns to rest

Mine is stock and dynoed at roughly 410rwhp and 450rwtq STOCK this tuesday. It has all the recall stuff done also.

I think your car needs a few miles to recover or you have a bad pump. My car with a bad pump only made 360rwhp earlier this year.

Yeah, we are stating to hear more and more that the car seems to come back after flash.

Course we did also hear this week that Benz DID IN FACT put a load limiter on a guys car in the tranny area. Not sure when that was installed, but let's hope that was not what happened to you my Benz brotha.

Hang in there and keep us updated.

I have an 03 E55 and had reflash done in May. Car behaved just like you describe. MB said to shift car manually for awhile and drive aggressively. It took over a week before car woke up. I'm not sure car is the same as before, but the beast is definitely back.
