MB claims 493 BHP and 590 lb-ft torque........I have heard rumors of it actually putting out closer to 540 BHP.

Mine is more of a toy than a daily, but I do agree with the depreciation part. I just like to drive too much to let it sit.

I remember reading about instances of cars being sold and the car's owner's forum posts being reviewed to see how the car was treated. One person had trouble selling theirs because there was a video posted online of him catching air off a railroad tracks rise.

Aside from that any car i buy is going to be gone over by my brother in law who is a mercedes dealership master technician.

Mine went from being our weekend toy to my wife's daily driver, no thanks to the **** poor quality of her VW Touareg. The VW has been having so many problems, that we decided she would just drive the E55 until we trade it in on the ML320 CDI we ordered (should arrive mid-October).
Its cool to know that a car I bought to spoil myself and has run consistent 12s at the local dragstrip is now serving double duty chauffering my son around and running errands.
I know I'm gonna take a hit when I sell it (even though I bought it used to avoid an even bigger hit), but its by far the best all-around car I've ever owned.

Little did I know that 03 S600's are going that cheap...

*Do I sell the E55, get the S600, get an ecu drop rims and call it a day for a long time...

But then again everyone is gonna have an even harder time believing the car is mine and mot my parents...

Guys, I just bought an 04' E55, and this is a little misleading... Cars in the $40's HAVE ISSUES...... they are either Lemon Law buy backs, salavge title, etc,etc...

It wouldn't make sense to trade an e55 for a heavier s55, he wants the v12 bi-turbo engine. Benzoboi, you should also consider a much lighter 03+ CL600. I think the S class would be too big and heavy, especially after owning a much more nimble E class. CL600's cost about the same too, many around 50k. Personally, I would much rather have the CL600 over an E55 not just because its much faster, but also because the interior is nicer and the shape is more elegant.
