Western US drag racers.....best track in Western US??

Really had my heart set on Sacramento (Sea Level and Trey rocked there), but do to scheduling (can't make the group meeting Oct 28th and they only are doing test n tunes Wed and Fri's) I can't make it to Sacramento.

Any other killer tracks in the Western US?? Looking for lowest elevation/track condition etc.

Any great tracks in So Cali?? There's just gotta be something out here.

What about the track the NHRA does the finals at....Pomona???

Doing the VRUS Throttle Body in roughly a week or 2, then was thinking of shooting out to a good track to give it the ole college try.

My track sucks here, not to mention a mile high (4300ft)

Thanks for any info.

Yeah, as it stands. I won't be able to make it til November. Bout the only weekend I have free in October is 14/15th and not sure if I am gonna make the thottle body by then.

Keeping fingers crossed.

VRUS and I had some trouble with the first set of cam gears and we had to order another set.

Watch all this hype and I pump 13.5 at 98mph...NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Pomona would be your best bet since California Speedway was disappointing for our drag day. The only problem you'll run into is that Pomona runs a VERY limited schedule.

Just checked Pomona...WOW!! Just the NHRA finals and that's it.

Maybe I'll just have to wait til November. Sheesh, this is rough.

Being self employed....can't really take many more days off (Wed or Fri test n tunes) as I already snagged a couple around beginning of Sept.

Maybe I will just make a Vegas run and me and Dragon can do some side by sides....his car is smmmmokin!!! Be great video.

Are you kidding???

They are no more. Orange County closed decades ago, Carlsbad as bad it was, went to housing development last year. Fontana has nasty head winds in afternoon and sand, Palmdale is at 3000 ft. and has car crashing side wind at 1/8 mile.

At this time G-tech or similar setup on a nice straight 1/4 mile, low traffic road, is the only choice.

If you can't make Sacto, I'd check out Infineon in Sonoma, elevation 37'. The elevation at Vegas is 2100'.

Dragon was talking about making a Vegas Dray Day... I mean, you can't beat the weekend accomodations, right? Josh, is this going to materialize?

Another track to consider is Firebird Raceway in Phoenix. They have run-what-ya-brung racing on the weekends. The elevation is right at 1100 feet.

Maybe, but Bakersfield doesn't have great hotels or strip clubs for that matter. If you're going to travel to a track, might as well make a semi-vacation out of it. We can drag race during the day and then meet at a great restaurant for dinner and then maybe a nice roll down the strip.

Not too mention, if everyone is serious about doing this I can get a GREAT rate at any hotel we choose.

Josh,

See if you can do it on the 4th of November. I know you offered to have a BBQ for us Cali peeps coming for SEMA, but a racing day would be better.

Loren,
It would be cool if you could make it.

If the vegas thing you guys are talking about happens pls let me know in advance i'm down for it. I'll be at SEMA the last couple of days.

Also for those who are interested i came across a gathering. Forget the tracks!! This is way better! How does an open airfield sound? From talking to one of the guys who's putting it together, you can do 200+mph!

Time to unleash the beast!
