About the E55 recall...
Well, after I did it, about 3 months later (today), a letter showed up saying...
We'd like to thank you for giving us the opportunity to take care of the recent recall work on your Mercedes-Benz.
We realize that bringing your vehicle in for service can be inconvenient and we apologize for any disruption that it may have caused. In cooperation with our dealers, our goal in a situation like this is to take care of a potential issue before you experience it, so that your ownership experience continues to be of the caliber you expect from Mercedes-Benz.
In that spirit, please accept the enclosed pre-paid ($100 American Express) card, both as a small token in acknowledgement of any inconvenience you may have experienced and to show our appreciation for being a valued owner.
Sincerely
Paul G. Juron

CLIFF NOTES: They sent me a Pre-paid American Express for $100.

Yours was 100! Those *******s! I wrote them a two-page letter about the loss in power in my car and other issues I had with my dealership and all I got in return was the exact same letter and a $50 card which I think only works as store credit at MBZ

MBWorld Fanatic!
these don't necessarily have to have anything to do with the recall. many owners were getting these amex gift cards after any type of dealer service. my buddy received a $200 card for getting a tune-up on his e320 and he didn't write any letters to anyone...it just showed up.

My $100 card showed up today
, about three weeks after the recall service. The letter specifically mentioned the recall, and apologized for the inconvenience.

$50 is all I got as well. Guess you needed to send a letter. I should have *****ed more cause all I went in for was tires. 6 and a half hours later, I get my car back. Great "while you wait" service
