Dyno Results: Stock vs MB Recall Flash vs Re-flash by RENNtech

Just got back from RENNtech and have some good results to post. When I first got the car it put down 411 rwhp /451 rwtq. After the RENNtech ECU and Pulley it put down 439 rwhp /493 rwtq.

I had my car in for service and MB did the recall and flashed my computer. RENNtech said it would not be a problem at all, and to bring the car by and have their latest program put on.

After the recall flash, the car put down 413 rwhp / 476 rwtq. Not sure what was going on, but with the MB flash, it seems like the pulley alone wasn't doing much..... maybe some kind of load limit? no idea.....

After RENNtech put their latest program on, the car put down 456 rwhp /503.49 rwtq.

All dynos were done on the same dyno. The first two runs were done back in April, the last two were done today about 15 minutes apart....

If you're stock I don't think you have to worry about the MB recall flash, if you have any mods you'll need to get your computer done....

Here is the graph:

This is great! Answers all the previous questions we had about the problems with the MB recall / reflash! Thanks. I'll be getting mine dynoed shortly. I was waiting for the weather to cool off a bit.

.......very interesting. After the recall, some like DragonAMG who were able to have the new tuner software re-installed had higher HP numbers and/or trapspeed. Looks like Fikse's car is one of these. There a few Kleemann cars with same observation. One is a CLS55 in chicago with over 500RWHP post recall flash and post installation of the new Kleemann K2 software. The tuners have newer software that goes very nicely with the MB recall flash software and yeilds more power. The problem is that for most cars the new or old aftermarket tuner software is unable to be reinstalled without reverting the ECU back to pre-flash stock status. When this is done, only the old tuner software can be installed. I hope this makes sense as you read it. If I have not had your car flashed, I wouldn't jump to get it done in the hopes of more power.

Ted

Having been dyno tuning my Camaro and reading dyno graph for many years, Renntech's A/F curve are a lot more level than stock, which is good. However, it is still running quite rich at ~11 from 5700rpm and up? Is there a reason why they didn't try to get more to 12.2-12.5? For comparison, if you look at my graph in my sig, it's completely level from 3000rpm to redline at around ~12.2-12.5.

Nice numbers!

Rich is safe, especially when many states only have 91 octane fuel available.
