I would love to have the EURO Command, but I heard that I will no longer be able to get sirius radio, or I wont be able to control it through the command unit.

Incorrect you can switch from US to Euro model when you have a Euro model. When in US mode you can have Sirius.

I don't think so, either. I had the Euro comand installed in my '05 and the reason i did not in the '06 is because of Sirius. I was told by those that sold and installed it that you could ADD sirius as any car can, but I want to use the OEM one. I understand that the Comand Software has a setting, but that does not mean that the US spec comands have the feature.

If indeed I am wrong, then bring on DVD up front. MBenzNL can you clarify?

If you do 357 Trick it takes you to options of choosing ECE which is Euro, or US, when you change it to US the Video now becomes SAT Radio. A bit of pain if you want to change back and forth because sometimes it takes 3 minutes for the change to happen, but it does..

The 357 trick allows for you to change the software setting, but the hardware does not exist. I looked into it. IT CAN NOT BE DONE THAT EASILY.

That is exactly why I want CF ones with NO metal at all. I never even thought to ask you about that. i have a guy here in SD that is offering me cheap stuff as long as he can use my current parts or car as a template for his molds. You already are a CF master. Why not make stuff and sell to us??

The EURO COMAND head units built by Harman/Becker Automotive Systems also have the US hardware circuitry inside. You can easily convert your EURO spec COMAND to a US version COMAND by using the 5+3+7 key combination code. Once you do, your VIDEO button brings up the SAT menu instead (of course you'll still need to have the MB SAT Tuner and Sirius subscription for SAT radio to be available), and you'll lose the VIDEO menus (DVD, TV, Video AUX).
Besides that, there are some other minor changes when converting to the US version: You'll lose the RDS features in the Radio menu (Don't know why they disabled this in the US version - isn't RDS available in the US/CAN?). The TEL menu will have the SMS submenu (on the EURO version SMS is available in the SERV menu). SERV button brings up the System MENU directly (no SERV menu in the US version). There are also some differences in the NAV menu - for example, for the English language you hear the American female voice instead of the British one.

Unfortunately for you US guys, I don't think it's possible to convert a US spec COMAND unit to EURO version: The US spec COMAND head units built by Siemens do not have the EURO hardware circuitry inside (so you won't get the VIDEO menu when converting to EURO version).
