Running Rich ASP pulley...
I noticed now after putting about 100 miles on my car with the pulley I'm getting the black soot on the rear bumper and trunk that I wouldn't get before.
It seems the ECU is adding more fuel to accommodate the pulley, which is a good thing because I'm running a stock ECU.

Do you have any idea what gains you got from just the pulley? Has anyone done dynos to see what the pulley and ECU change add independently and collectively?
I've always considered timing advance an option with just pulley, but how about pulley AND headers?
Last thing, has the quality / formulation of your gas changed? My car is nearly stock and I've noticed black soot at the tips after certain brands of gas and especially during winter months (they add agents for some reason).

Fuel economy... What's that
I don't drive it much I'm still on the same gas before the pulley install. I'm not talking about just the tips... I have it on the bumper and trunk that I didn't have before.

i have been running EVOsport pullies for about 10 mos. without ECU.
No problems at all.
Runs very strong on top and mid range.
I can get up to 22mpg if I cruise on the freeway...
but I can average 14 if I ignite the "afterburners"
ASP pullies or going next week as well for the E55.
so for the time being.. I will have 2 kompressor engines with pullies and NO ECU's.
I hope to run at the next track event (hopefully soon) to compare vs other stock E55's.

mines stock and after a hard run i usually notice the black soot on the bumper and trunk. it is very light tho and i can only see it coz the cars silver, on a black car it would probably just look like a bit of dust.

To what extent does the ECU remap automatically after the installation of these pullies? Isn't it potentially harmful to run the pullies without the ECU adjustments to compensate for the higher airflow?

Your pulleys are slipping thats why you are running rich.
We are currently working on an auxiliary adjustable belt tensioner solution which will solve the problem.
I'll let you know when the job is finished.

I also put ASP pulleys and man oh man the car is great, I am getting ready for my next mod, hehehe Kleeman Headers!. I just need some damn good tires to hold my stock rims...any suggestions? I hear someone is running 295's in the rear in this forum. That is something to try.

I have 285 Nittos on my stock wheels in the back. Those are my street tires. They are awesome They won't hook cold, but once warm they are amazing. I love it.
Since this is another ASP pulley thread - HAS ANYONE DYNO'D POST INSTALL WITH A/F?!?!?!?!?!?!

but you should gain at least 35RWHP and 45RWTQ on a stage 1.
supposedly the ASP pullies alone but that much down with OUT ECU flash.
I have evosport pullies with no ECU and there is a difference in power.
I'm going to try to dyno after the ASP pullies, but I really don't need a dyno to tell me if I'm making more HP or not. I just want to have a bit more than stock, just in case.

Slip
Anyway if your concerned, just throw it on the dyno. If there is slip it will show up as "jagged" in the curve. If the economy is good and the curve is smooth then there is no problems.
Also listen carefully after 4000 RPM for any belt squeal.

You have to call them and they will tell you all about it. It's been that way for along time on their web site. I don't know why they don't update it.
Cheers,
