Road America in the E55. (Video)
Well, RoadAmerica was a blast.
The E55 handled better than expected, even with our combined heft of around 4450-4600# (depending on passenger status) The Toyo T1-r street tires I drove to the track with did a fair enough job, all things considered.
One thing to consider was the arctic temps- a high of 39 on Saturday drove most of us to our cars in between sessions. Sunday fared better in the low 50's. Mmmmmm. Heated seats.
The track was great, and the corner workers were generally on top of things. So much so that they black-flagged our first session after about 2 laps.
In that span, three cars had left the track, one under caution 
and one of those rolling their car 
. Add a few more passes under yellow, and it was over. 
Sunday was generally better due to less traffic and warmer weather. It was nice to see such a variety of cars there, including such oddballs as a Morgan Aero8 parked near a Tiburon. A supercharged NSX next to a G35 next to a GT3.......simply awesome.
I was one of 2 Mercedes drivers there. The other was MB-PC in his coil-over equipped CLK500. He did very well for a rookie, believe me.

cool video... the music is a little too loungy for me, though. Put some kick *** moving music in that sucker! Here, I posted this song just for you... I turned down your volume and turned this up... almost the perfect length time wise, and its movement is poetic...

L8Apex: that lap was with an M6 and M3, but the E55 put a pass on several sweet cars (and one Volvo) Camera mount was CruiseCam headrest mount.
Loren: I'm re-mixing a version just for you. Thanks for the music.
Derek: My best lap was a 2:48 point something, taken from a video. This is a non-comp event, and I don't run a timer. Lap times with the wave-by rules are largely dependant on how nicely the slower cars play. I did manage a string of 2:50-2:53's.
April is calling me back there with R-comps and better brakes. I want a low 2:40 now.
