Blah blah blah!! More rumors on 6.3 twin turb..blah blahhhhhh
So salesman tells me he is getting hammered from 6.3 guys asking when twin turbs are coming out. Most are happy with the new motor, but just wondering if these are ever coming out.
Sales guy says he heard from Benz insider that NOW, 6.3 tt will only be in the S Class and SL. E will not get the TT.
He HAS heard rumors and certain tuner is working on a twin turb kit to add to the 6.3 due to overwhelming demand. Still in research so a ways out.
Finally (my humble) with the AMG custom shop, wonder how much they would charge to put the twin turbo 6.3 in an AMG E Class when it comes out 2009/2010. It's cool with the custom shop, we can even dream this now.
All just rumor, so we now return you to your regularly scheduled Forum surfing.

When I was in Affalterbach in August, I was told the same thing - the twin turbo's would EVENTUALLY find their way to the S & SL class.As far as the Performance Studio during engine modifications I would highly doubt it.They currently do suspension mods ( Black Series ) and cosmetic mods - inside and out.But , as always, things are subject to change based upon customer's requests.

there will be a V8 turbocharged vehicle coming out in about 2 years.......that's all I can say.
It will also be planned for the M-Class and G-Class.

Not to start a flame war, but huh? Why would the G get a 6.3TT on its last year? It will already sell well and drift off into the abyss. Second, the thought of my car sharing anything with the ML is simply GROSS!!

A 63 TT engine with 575 hp has been discussed here and in a magazine interview quote from an AMG guy. That wouldn't be too much of a stretch for the E.

Didnt an MBZ exec categorically say that that G HAS NO PLANS for an AMG version in the owners lounge a couple of weeks ago? This wasnt him saying "no comment" or that he can not confirm or deny....but that the G was NOT getting an AMG version. Now someone else is saying it is...hmmm

the model i'm talking about is the next generation M and G (designated W166 and X166) scheduled around 2010 or so. They may share the same architect between each other, including engine variants.
