'03 E55 vs. '03 S55

Hey everyone, I don't want to ask a stupid question and I certainly don't mean it to be. I was just curious about the '03 E55 and the '03 S55. I realize they are different in a lot of ways, but can someone tell me why they like theirs' more? I love my '00 E55 and want one with a Kompressor on it now. I want to stay with the AMG abviously. Can anyone tell me which is faster, and other pros and cons about their car?
Thanks abunch!

I think its pretty obvious that E55 is faster simply because its lighter. If you currently have an E class, I suggest you stay with it because you may find the S class not sporty enough. If you want an S class, definitely go with the S600 because its much faster than S55 and somewhat faster than E55 too.

drive a s55 and you will find the car handles nice with the abc suspension and has handles like a smaller car with a lot of room in it.

i dunno who told you that the s600 is faster than an e55
its not, i raced 1 in my clk55 and he pulled about 1/4 of car up to 55-60

ive seen 600 1/4 times in the 12.6-12.8 @109-111

from previous experiences of driving (the **** out of) a s430, they handle/feel much better than the e class. the abc suspension helps a lot, it really feels like a much much smaller car. and its easier to slide a car w/ longer wheelbase

maybe its just me but the s class felt better when pushed than the e55 (believe me i know how to push em)

The real question is do you really need the extra space?

Nobody told me anything, S600 is a low to mid 11 second car with just the renntech ecu. There is not a big difference between s600 and s65, are you ganna tell me that S65 is slower than E55 too lol? Not only do many members on this board run these times, but dragtimes.com also confirms it. From a roll, bi-turbo v12 is faster than a supercharged V8 every time.

now its w/ a renntech ecu, what are you going to add to it next?
exhaust? arent we talking stock for stock? why dont you tell us how the 65 isnt worth it and the 600 w/ mods will kill a 65 and youll have more $ left over for a daily driver

"there is not a big difference between a s600 and s65"
no, its not big at all, 1 is a luxury car and the other is a sports luxury sedan, no big difference

maybe the 600 i raced wasnt a 600, maybe it was a 500?? rebadged

Renntech ecu is how much? $2,000? After spending 60k+ on a car, I don't see who wouldn't do the ecu. And dude, you sound kinda crazy laughing at your own jokes so much... you need to come down a little I think.

My car does handle better than most bigger cars. My cadillac seville use to handle like a boat. Most of you guys say the E is faster because it is lighter. isn't the E55 like 4000 lb and the S55 is 4400, does that the E that much Faster?

I would like something fast and sporty, something that handles the road with the way I like to drive it.

I like the sedans. The wife is pregnant now, so space is important right now. I know the S classes are bigger, but I don't want to sacrifice peformance. Otherwise, I'll hate it and want something else later. The wife won't go for that.
