Is that Gustav's voice quivering at the start of the race? Little nervous about the outcome - not truly knowing what was gonna happen there bud? I really liked how the lights of the E55 came from behind...like a lion ready to attack its prey!

I'll give ya this Gustav...the race looked legit to me. I would like to think that I'm an enthusiast and can be neutral when it comes to the HP wars and although I LOVE AMG - I can't deny that the M6 reeled in the E55 and it looked nice doing it. We can all cry foul and give a million reasons why the outcome should be different but again...this is a K4 highly modified car against a stock car.

Having said that, I think that Rock said it best about not racing an M6 at 150! So I too can live with this outcome. I haven't had a race on the highways. All my kills are light to light. Although I hear that in Europe, highway runs are more common. Although I'd like to see more videos of this same matchup...especially from a guy who is truly neutral. Gustav, you're so biased when it comes to the M name that anything you put your name on is going to wreak of If you didn't act like a child and taunt everyone on this board with your video maybe you would have gotten more to accept this defeat. Grow up!

that wasn't the video i thought it was...that street video posted a while back claiming the same thing (i couldn't watch it earlier as i was at work). this video is totally believable...the kleemann trounces the m6 up to 250kph and it would have been even worse from a stop.

if the race is up to 250km.. isn't the race up to that only? isn't the race over at 250? It happened but it's really hard for me to believe that a car that is that much ahead get reeled in so fast? Did it get reeled in after 250? sorry I watched the vid without audio. most high end supercars go to around 320km so that is like 70km after 250 to reel in that many carlengths.

If it is what it is. Nice kill m6.


p.s. isn't the m6 only a few hundred pounds lighter than the m5 and only slightly faster than the m5, If so, that means the m5 stock should have a pretty close outcome.

I raced a nitrous spraying camaro the other night that runs 11.1 in the 1/4 mile. I drove the M6 and we ran from a dig to 150mph. At 120 mph, he had 8 car lengths on me. Right as I hit 150mph, I passed him handily by a good 10 mph.

EDIT for addition:

By the 1/2 mile mark, I was right at 160mph and had a solid 6 car lengths on him.

Still, it seems the M6 was a very strong runner compared to what we've seen a stock M5/M6 run against stock or K1 E55's. I guess since our cars are basically 4 + years old, the newest BMW has to offer should be able to out run us by now. By the way Gustav, if the E55 stage whatever really was making 640 HP and 900NM, it would have been far uglier even up to 300KM if the M6 was stock @ 500HP. You can beat up anything except physics.

Edit: It would more be more likely that this happened at 150mph from a dead stop due to the amount of time the E was at WOT. Even Kleeman says that about 20-25 sec. is all you get out of an E before heat takes away your fun. The cars simply cannot get rid of the heat of the blower (especially with the boost turned up) without a better intercooling setup.

I've already talked to Cory about this and he has seen the video. He said that that's about right. He said that it has something to do with the gear ratio etc. I have his e-mail but left it in the office.

Bottom line is the K4 is faster up to 130, 140, 150 after that the gearing of the M6 will start to slowly pull away. If you think about it how many roads out there can you do 150mph+ where the M6 will over take you?

Guys, Like I said in a previous post. This was not a script by Gustav. It was confirmed by Kleeman. The K4 pulled like a freight train on the M6 up to 125mph.

The outcome of Gustav's video (K4 vs. M6) clearly shows that a K4 from a 30mph roll will power away from a stock M6 to about 125 mph. However, due to the better gearing (7speed gear box) of the M6 it will reel in the K4 from 125 mph to 155 mph (with 2 more gears to go). You would think the slippery (drag coefficient .28?) of the K4 would help at higher speeds against the M6 (cd.32), but it doesn't. Gearing is king in this comparo. M6 wins.

Consider this, a stock E55 runs 0-150 mph in 23 sec. vs. the M6 at 19 sec. Even with similar 1/4 mile times the M6 will pull away considerably after 120 mph. So, even with the additional mods to the K4 it will have to make up 3 seconds to compete with the M6 to 150 mph and from a roll probably 4 seconds (that's a lot).

My question to Gustav is, why did you run a K4 against an M6 instead of the M5? Or did you? If so what was the outcome? I'm sure it was much different. No?

Kleeman did say the tire pressures were low on the K4 because they thought the runs would be made from a dig. The BMW guys wanted to protect their clutch and refused to start at 0. Kleeman did say tires with low pressure are heavy at speeds north of 100mph. This could be a factor but at the end of the day they needed a 7 speed gearbox to keep the revs in the motors sweet spot to compete against the m6 from a roll to 150mph.

Kudos to Gustav for putting this meet together and providing great pics and videos. Next time it would be nice to see the run from 0-150 against another four door ala M5. I think the outcome would be a little different.

Mighty impressive M6!

I think we have all seen a members C6 Z06 vs. his CLS55 K4. The CLS was even until it shifted (maybe into 3rd or 4th gear), and then the Z06 would start pulling.
I would like to see a race with the E55's tire pressure jacked up though.

I am a proud K4 owner and never had a BMW pass me (M5, M6) tuned or stock!!! i will try to get you some videos soon...the K4 in the video has something wrong with it. there is a video when my car was just K2 racing with a moded M5 (ECU and Exhaust) i only passed him when we hit 220kph so i dont understand why this video is showing the opposite
