i'm thinking of having the coupe as well next year. Right around Spring time.
I have been at the BMW forums alot lately.
a few things to know.
1) all the hype of this car being 290RWHP of the wheels, may not hold true. A few cars in CANADA have only dyno'd 260RWHP, which is about the 310+cranck hp. It seems that BMW is updating the ECU to put a leash on some extra power.
2) heat
3) Nobody knows the power handling level of the auto or manual trans. They are a few people on those board with some very good guesses, but not officially from BMW. I'm waiting to see how much it can handle.
a) I want to know how much boost can this engine handle as well. Only time will tell.
4) Vinshu tuning is very impressive. Put it will require a XEDE computer on top of the ECU. 310RWHP on the ECU alone. 330hp/370+tq to the wheels with ECU, 2 cat delete, and exhaust.

That is exactly what is happening they are holding cars back and either re-flashing the ecu or upgrading the oil cooler, no one seems to know for sure. I plan to dyno tomorrow or wendsday and see what it puts down stock. I will also do the software next week to see the difference. Since we got the car on Thursday it has been driven very aggressive. Being its a first year model it will have a number of issues. I plan to do a fair share of mods to it soon enough and explore some of its limits.
I also think they did an excellent job with the brakes and suspension. Considering its not an M car, BMW stepped it up.
