top speed of e63

My friend's CLS55 with limiter removed hit 189mph 3 weeks ago at a local highway around 2am in the morning. But he said the car didn't build to that speed right away, took some struggle after 160. I told him he's crazy for going that fast, but since he also has a Porsche GT3 that gone the same speed at 190mph he just want to see if his CLS55 can do the same.

I think the E63 will hit vmax in 5th with limiter removed ..
At 6800 in 5th vmax is 181 mph (187mph at 7000rpm)
At 6800 in 6th vmax is 221.7
At 6800 in 7th vmax is 249.05 (what a waste of time this gear is).
Thats why I keep saying the ratios in the E63 suck... its a close ratio 5 speed with 2 overdrives !!!!!

Yeah my math was off. Oops. 1.25 fields per second is plenty fast to go splat anyway.

Thank God YOU'RE alive??? Thank God EVERYBODY ELSE is alive!!! Don't get me wrong, I'm no "Church-Lady" and I love a fast car as much as everybody else on this forum. But seriously: Drunk - 120 mph - the WRONG side of the freeway??? Not only should you not have access to a fast car, you shouldn't have a license!

I drive an '03 E55 estate.
Firstly, I can't see the point of a limited 155 - it's insulting on a 5.5supercharged 470bhp muscle car... The 55 and 63 must be good for 200mph give or take.
I am due to get my car de-restricted at AMG in Germany to 186mph - they want the equalivalent of US$5k - but it is approved and covered by Merc extended warranty.
I reach 140-155 daily (UK). The irritants are mashed potatoe autobox kick-down, the ****e straight a head steering, wooden brakes and acceleration after throttle pedal lift-off - it makes for hard work to drive this old bus competantly.
How on earth, do serious people put up with those brakes and steering? Is it 'cause us E55 drivers ain't really, that serious
