Talking top speed of e63

Just wondering how fast my e63 can go with and without the top speed limiter???

Damn, the fastest i've taken my E55 was 127mph on the turnpike, i told my wife "Look, we're almost going 130 & you didn't even notice," she then screamed at me to slow down, so i had to stop.

The car felt very stable at that speed.

I've taken the lowly CLK500 up to about 140 with no issues. I've also taken the SL55 up to around 130, then the supercharger shut off and I really struggled to get it up to 140. I've even taken my Ford Explorer up to about 110 lol. High speed with these cars isn't really a big deal, if it wasn't for cops I'd probably be cruising down i95 at 150 with my CLK. Then again, I'm 18.

About the E63...I think I've seen a video somewhere of an M5 racing against a bike and he was topping out at just over 200mph. I'm sure that the E63 could reach similiar speeds considering it has a 7 speed, at least as much hp as the M5 and much more tq than it. I was never really cared about top speed as much as acceleration though. As long as a car can get up to about 150mph, then its enough. Acceleration is what matters. Who is going to actually take a Bugatti Veyron up to 250mph, even at an airstrip? Top speed is a big waste if you ask me and I'm kind of glad that these cars are limited at 155mph.

Some maniac took his Koenigsegg CCX up to 242 on the Gumball. Well, that's what the cops clocked him at. Highest speeding ticket ever issued.

How do the cops even catch someone going that fast most helicopters max out somewhere between 120-160. Also at that speed wouldn't you go to jail instead of getting a ticket if you were caught?

One might assume that he didn't keep that up for too long. Travelling at 3 football fields per second is not exactly easy to keep unless you enjoy turning yourself inside out.

i think you missed my point... it wasn't a 'does anyone ever drive over 100' ... i guess i should have said 'does anyone drive consistantly at these speeds for it to matter'?

if you say you do... i'd love to hear how you take the turnpike to work 50 miles a day at 155 plus.... it aint happening.

A friend of mine back home got out of a club and hopped into his brand new, at the time, S430. He was too drunk to drive so he let the girl whom he had just me drive him home.

They where going down a fairly long straight 4 lane street with yellow dividers in the center. She hammered the S430 to its limiter and gave the wheel a swift left to lock.

The car ended up 1.5k from when she pulled the wheel. She walked out unscathed. He was in the hosptial for 5 months. He's got a tube connecting the remaning pieces of his liver together and to this day can only eat soup.

So for me 155MPH is good enough, as long as I am driving.

Not to be pedantic but ...at 360km/h (223mph) you are doing 100m/sec mbe ~1.25 football fields / sec ... I assume 1 football field is 100 yards ?

I guess E63 wont get there so I would reckon Vmax is 1 football field / sec.

best way to figure out what top speed an e63 can do with the speed limiter remove is to:
1. lets say the car limits @ 7000rpm.
2.get it into 7 gear while driving.
3.start from 1000rmp lets say the speed @ 1000rmp is 40km/h.
4.then increase it to 2000rmp lets say the speed is now 80km/h.
5.increase it to 3000rpm lets say the speed is 120km/h.
6.increase it to 4000rpm lets say the speed is 160km/h.
7increase it to 5000rpm speed is now 200km/h
8. increase it tp 6000rpm speed is now 240km/h.
9. u will not be able to increase it to 7000rpm but if the speed limiter was removed the car will be likely to do 280km/h without interfering with the rev li miter.

these are not correct speeds this is just an example.
