E63 Vs M5 video.

I've driven the E63 and now own the M5 E60 and all I can tell you is the M5 is wicked sick fast (and faster than the E63).
The two cars couldn't be more different in that regards. While obviously the M5 is very fast, it feels faster than it is because it's so "raw". On the other hand, the E63 feels slower than it is because it's so smooth and effortless.
In in the Grapevine area ... we should hook up and race and find out for sure.

I don't think so Darren. I put 7k miles on my M5 before trading it in and I don't think it's noticeably faster than my current E63. It just FEELS faster.

so far the only advantage of the m5 is reaching 150mph sooner. To 100 they are pretty even acording to the few tests performed.
handling : The M5 shines at the expense of ride comfort.
braking: I'm not sure about this one, but the M5 should edge this one out.
comfort: no need to argue that point
I think I do agree that the shifting of the M6 is much aggressive and make it feel faster or more raw power, but in all they are pretty evenly matched.

I believe all new M5's should come standard from BMW with a paper bag for it's new owner. Place paper bag over new owners head so he or she won't be seen driving one of the ugliest BMW's around

What should they give to the regular E60 owners? I think the front end of the E60 M5 is light years better than the regular ones already (I think it actually looks quite nice). I still can't get over the back angle though. Saw an M6 today at BU Engineering School on my way to work. That camel hump / wart like trunk really hurt my eyes as well.

I do agree with you. It very well could be the raw feel of the gear changes and how you feel the road differently (rougher) through the suspension, etc. that gives me (and other that ride with me) the impression the car is quicker.
I would enjoy meeting up and at least hang out and admire the cars at Starbucks. If we could do a few runs that would be great as well (as long as we can find someplace safe...and as long as we bring a video camera to document the fun

Hey thats fine, but this is not a M5 or BMW related forum. What do you expect. The new M5 is one of the ugliest from BMW and I have owned 5 BMW's in the past. All the new ones make me want to throw up.

The AMG's ate all the M's in the 1/4 mile drag race, are they hunting the M boards yapping there mouths off? no
if you are a car
then you should act like it, sadly you are not, but rather a bimmer fan plain and simple (ultimate machine bubble ) needs to come to reality 
If you want to reference track racing the E63 came 1rst and 2nd in some races (2 M6's and maybe 2 M3's) but i believe a Z4m won his category, amazing driver!
