Is A K4 faster than stock?

Just wondering if anyone has tested at high speed. I know it wouldn't even be a race in the 1/4 mile, but has anyone compared from 100 to 150mph? It just seems like I've seen videos of the 55 running very close with the M5 at high speeds. I have also seen a video(Gustav) of a M5 running almost even with and M6.

Since the M6 trounces the K4 so badly at high speeds, it makes me wonder if it is any faster that stock at these speeds. Is it possible that the Kleeman mods could actually hurt the high end performance of the E55?

Totally with you. The videos have had me thinking all week.

Wish we could have someone get on an open stretch of road with Derek's M6.

I just don't buy the "heatsoak" theory for the E55 getting walked at top end, but don't any other explanation so

I'm waiting patiently for anyone I know to buy an M6 here in Vegas so we can test the theory. There are lots of open spaces out this way where we could do some testing. Granted, I don't have a Kleeman vehicle but I'm sure Renntech is probably close in performance.

I'm wondering if it could be due to the exhaust. I've the full Kleemann exhaust system and I've noticed b4 installation that the pipe diameter is actually the same or smaller than the stock one. Could it be that the Kleemann exhaust was designed to improve response and midrange rather than top end power?

If both cars are evenly equiped, K3 vs Stage 3, I have my money on Renntech all the way

You better watch your mouth or the kleemann zealots will bash you. Also Josh has more mods on his car then are offered in a Renn stage 3. For them to be equal mod wise he needs a Renn stage 6 minus the airbox.

How much money... I'd love to take each and every penny you have

Richards E55 is Stage 5 Renntech (with the airbox).

We raced tonight... several runs. From a dig and a roll.

The bottom line for me here is gearing - you need ALOT more power to overcome the gearing dilution of RWHP on the E55...

It has to be quicker than stock but it wont be by a big margin I think. The only way you will see it walk away big time is if you start playing with rear diff ratio to a 2.82 or something ... Thats my next mod after ASP pulley.

And a Quaife LSD while the diff is open.

I know MKB do something like that. Any idea how much it costs for just the 2.82 ratio?

M6 due 7 speed box is very faast at high speeds...especially after 140-150 !!!

But from dead stop without LC it wont catch up with proper running K4...

Dont think it will be too bad - the E63 has the 2.82 ... so might be cheaper to get that pumpkin fitted and then sell on the E55 diff... allot easier than opening up the pumkins - dunno if it has same robustness as the E55's but the ring gear should be easy to source if you wanted to mod the E55's diff.

Please explain in further detail. From a dig..from a roll.. how many car lengths.. did you pull on him continously.. This might be the first Renntech vs. Kleemann run on the site...

Look at the previous race with the stock E55 vs M5

http://videos.streetfire.net/search/...1d2a2488da.htm

The E55 is loosing right after 3rd gear and the distance increases fast.
================================================== =

now look at the M6 vs K4

http://videos.streetfire.net/search/...67011a8dfe.htm

keep in mind the M6 is faster at the higher speeds than the M5 (its lighter)

The K4 killed the M6 until about 200kph and then it started loosing ground. Did the K4 loose the race NO, since the race was upto 250kph. But if they would of kept going, the K4 would have lost.

Bottom line: The M6 with 7sps loves to run and the 55k motors with 5spds is its major flaw.

I think you can draw out your own conclusion.

Yeah, I figured. He really needs the intercooler upgrade that comes in the stage 6.

RudyRono if your reading this get that done and race Josh again I guaranty the outcome will be different. If you want to add more stuff ask Renntech about heads and cams.

I am not so sure about that.. Klemann headers are MONSTERS compared to Renntech headers... I think that is where the difference lies...

First off several kleemann header owners have had them crack on them. That's fact not BS. Secondly Renntech can make long tube headers for you that are even larger then the kleemann ones however they are considered custom and will cost more. The standard RT headers have been dyno tested and show they add 20hp and 20tq to the wheels on a 55K car. I'm not sure what the kleemann put to the wheels but I'm sure its around the same number and if by chance they make 5-10 more to the wheels that will not be the factor in who wins the race, because at the hp level they are both at 5 to 10hp is nothing.

Compare these RT dyno charts.

I agree... headers were probably the difference not the IC pump. It was 50 degrees out the results were the same from the 1st race to the last.
