I say keep it. As I've said before, I like badges because they give some texture to the body and something for the eye to catch. Plus, the 63 is so new it sort of requires them. Unless you want the ultimate sleeper.

I say it depends on the color.

E55 (for sale if the right offer comes along)...too many others to list
My car is black and I took them off the back. I love the clean lines and the sinister look. I got the car for the engine not the status! On the way to SEMA I got a ticket and the chick cop was trying to make sure I could build enough speed on the shoulder to get back on the FWY.....She asked if it was an E500? LOL Ask JamE55 from the board who was riding with me...boy did I show her that I could build up speed. I bet after I got back on she was like, WTF was that? It gave me a good laugh. I agree about the color of the car, black is the only car it looks good on.

Yes, definitely. The problem I foresee is the precedent you set by allowing your wife have a say in this matter! Hah!!

Why?!? On an E350, ok. But a 55 or 63, don't you want people to know what you are driving?

E63s are very unique because they are the latest thing. Debadge it and it will look like any other E55 since 2003. You could have bought a 2005 model instead.

I'd leave the badges on. You certainly paid for them.

no problems, it’s very easy. either way you go, neither decision is permanent. you can take them off and put them back on if you don’t like it.

De-Badged

I had my dealer take badges off before delivery. There is no problem what-so-ever. The badges are simply held on by adhesive tape. I much prefer the clean stealth look and terrorizing unsuspecting super cars on the road.

Well..... It was she who persuaded me to get the car, (the same color as yours btw lol.). Her reasoning is that when some young driver pulls up beside the car, they always want to race because of the AMG badges. .

who are you trying to impress. the badges hurt the clean lines and if people can not tell the subtle differences between a 350 and a 63 then they probably do not even know there are differences.

Typical poser mentality. AMG owners care more about performance than showing off... they don't have a "small dick syndrome" that import owners seem to suffer from. I say debadge the car, true car enthusiasts will still know its a 63 based on the bumper, spoiler, brakes and wheels. Ignorant fools will have no idea what it is anyway, but who cares about them anyway?

If it would make her happy, then why not? The car will be just as awesome either way.

+1

But most importantly, do what you and your wife like. You paid for it, you drive it, and you see it everyday. This is really personal preference since even some of us like it and some of us don't who knows AMG.

If you like, just take one badge off at a time and see if you like it. If not just put it back. Even if you happen to break it, buying new ones from the dealer is cheap.

Listen to your wife and debadged then ask for something else in return !!

i can't see 16 in rims on the e55's brake package, its not the fact it would look stupid, but more like 17s may not even clear the e55's brakes properly.
