Recently bough a used 2003 E55 for 43K!

Loving it. Silver exterior, berry red and black combo interior.

However, it has 68k miles on. So far, the ride's great (love the torque) but I was wondering if performance diminishes in a car like this as it packs on more miles.

Oh, and also, sometimes the car would go into neutral and I can't accelerate. Any one out there experience something similar to that? Dealer said that I probably just pressed the shifter pads accidently

Sounds like that badboy's been ridden hard and put away wet, hope you got an extended warranty, that engine's a doozy to fix. Hell, everything on it is a doozy to fix.

That would be kinda hard to do without noticing... I think you should take it to the dealer and get it checked out.

2005 E55 silver
That is the lowest I've seen an 03'. I've been waiting for the 55's to drop before I pull the trigger. Don't mean any disrespect but I like to see the prices coming down.

Damn thats a steal of a price, almost sounds like wholesale. If you have a warranty than more power to you! If not, I'd advise you to get one.

Thats the highest miles i have ever heard of on a 211/e55.
No one knows for sure if miles affect performance in these cars,b/c not too many out there is over 40k miles. We will just have to wait and see.

One you get into 6 digits, there may be slight hp decline but a modern engine that is well looked after should be good for over 200k.

Congrats on the car

thanks. found out that the feeling of being in neutral had something to do with the supercharger. sometimes i would let the accelerator go completely so the supercharger would wind back as if it were at 0 rpm so i'm told to put some gas on the accelerator so it wouldn't happen
