Kleeman K4 Vids

In reading a post on M5Board, Gustav states that the K4 v. M5 vids are being deleted here. Is that true? If so, why?

as much as i appreciate the videos gustav has provided, he is a habitual liar. i gave him the benefit of the doubt on all the hearsay and bs others have said about him until i had to call him on a few things myself.

i'm quite sure they're here if you search for them and he's got a couple of videos of that obviously sick (slow) k4 plastered all over the m5 board.

Observation Result

I have been living in South Korea more than a year now, and have watched
many many high speed and drag races in the past and participated many of them as well.

What we all agree down here is that E55 with light mods(ECU+Pully from any brand) are definitly faster than Stock M5(with proper European Launch Control) without a doubt.

CLS55 with Super Sprint full exhaust murdered ECU and exhaust tuned M6s many many times, literally destroyed it in drag races in front of hundreds of people with 4 car length gap in 1/4mile.

P turbo(997) Killed the same CLS55 with 2 car lengrh gap in 1/4mile.

M5 with Full exhaust and ECU mods and E55 with full exhaust and ECU mods were running dead even up til 190mph. then the E55 limiter kicked in. There was absolutely no difference and i in my CLK and an owner of a monster E55 pushing 690 bhp with DTM engine internal swaps, carbon clutch and many other crazy mods were watching this in the back. I think they are dead even on rolling starts. But in drag races AMGs are superior.

btw, here the drag races can go up to 186mph+ from dead start in some cases.

Hey jlee81. Where in S. Korea do you guys race? I know there are many high end exotics and many luxury super cars out in kangnam and such. Im just curious as to where you guys actually race? I guess its time for me to pay another visit soon.

Lets see 640HP vs ~500HP ? ... clearly the "K4" in the video is not producing 640HP - how could it be ? ~30% more power and it loses the race ... err yeah right good one. Even the adverse gearing would be overcome with this power differential.

What does Kleeman have to say about this race?

Perhaps the M6 is not stock or it produces more power than what they say it does?

In any case its not a race between a 640HP car and a 500HP car.

When I saw the video it was on a post by a newbie - after I watched the video a few times and went backmto the forum the post was gone ... so guess it is being deleted.

I would like to know, as well. The main roads here are saturated with speed cameras.

It's hard to believe a 507hp car can beat a 600+hp car. I have both an E55 with K&N's, full Supersprint exhaust, and ECU reflashed and a stock 07 M6. The M6 is fast, but it's not as fast as my E55, maybe the M6 needs time to break in? But my E55 has only 750 miles on the clock.

Think mbe 2 days ago a post come on by a real newbie (1 post) saying "have you seen this" and pointed 3 links on various video hosting sites of the M6 / K4 race from 50km/h to stock limiter it seems ... i.e. Gustav's video.

So I checked out the video and when I went back to the forum to comment the orginal post - it was gone ... either withdrawn or deleted - dunno.

Anyhow glad I saw the video ... would like someone to explain to me how 507hp beats 640hp regardless of brand ...
So the data does not support the experiment so the data must be at fault?

So someone is having us on its either
1. Gustav
2. Kleemann overstating the true power output
3. BMW understating their true power output
4. Gearing playing more of a roll than we thought ...
5. Heatsoak occured at 50km/h on the K4

I reckon its a bit of all of the above ... we can argue on the proportions - but it does not really matter does it?

I have a theory on the K4 640Hp rating. It may be 640Hp on a short 1 gear blast but as IAT's go up etc etc after 2-3 gears of F/T run its maxing out in terms of heatsoak and it may not be anywhere close to 640Hp at that point. Take gearing into account and you have your answer that explains the video ...

Anyone worked out how much extra HP is requied to overcome the gearing disadvantage the E55 has to 250km.h?

I think its #3 and #4, i think M6 is strong car especially from the roll because of underated power and gearing PLUS very fast shifts.

there is NO WAY a K4 will loose to an M5 or M6. It is easy to speculate but I have been in a genuine K4 and it is absolutely insane It does not run out of breath ever, just keeps accelerating until you reach vMAX.....

i'd be willing to bet the poster was gustav hiding behind an alias and since he's been banned that's the reason it was pulled...not the content.

keep in mind, kleemanns ratings are crank hp not rwhp. regardless, i've played with a fully broke-in e60 m5. at any real world speed (below 150mph) the m5 had nothing on my k2...not from a dig, not from a roll...nothing. i highly doubt the m6 is that much different. it's pure and simple, that k4 was not running properly.

Whine whine whine. FFS just enjoy the videos like the rest of us are. This has already been discussed in several threads on both mbworld.org and m5board.com. We may all be underestimating what the M6 is capable of at high speeds and overestimating Kleemann's work. I honestly don't know why the M6 is able to cope with the 640 hp beast like that, but Kleemann confirmed it - call them if you please.

It get's boring reading the same stuff again and again.

If you take a close look at the video you will notice that the K4 pulls on the M6 all the way unitl about 200km/h or 124mph. At that point the M6 pulls like a freight train. It is not surprising to me at all that the M6 caught the K4 at 250km/h or 155mph.

Take a look at some of the trade rags that have posted 0-60, 0-100, and 0-150mph times for the M5 and the M6. 0-150mph times are faster than most cars out there.. F430, 911 Turbo (old one), Gallardo (not that fast in my opinion),etc.. We all know that the M5 and M6 doesn't start to really pull until above 120 mph. I dont think there are too many cars on the road that can run against an M5 or M6 above 150mph. Having said that, where can you drive above 150mph in the US?

I swear i'm going brain dead, keep forgetting my user id, some how i remembered this one.

Ok enoughwith my lack of memory, how's this, i know M5's are quick, i know 997 turbo's are quick, and i think my little 04 is pretty quick too! So let me toss the guantlet, i live in toronto, and i'd be glad to use my 04 to take on any M5, or M6
and i'm sure my buddy JParch would be glad to come videotape the whole thing!

So for anyone out there that knows anyone from Toronto that has a M5 or M6 that would like to come have a little fun, shoot the **** please pm me and i'll be glad to set something up.

But guys at the end of the day, we all have fast cars, but there's always gonna be faster, i don't normally post because, sometimes too much drama takes place, so let's have some fun and not worry about who's quick and who's not.

Sorry mate, but I fail to see how I'm supposed to know what it is about if I don't read it. Who knows, by reading all threads with an interesting title I might get smarter, that simply isn't the case in this thread about the M6 vs. Kleemann video cause it has all been said before.

New Airport Highway it is. It is not a driving season anymores so wait until next summer if you want to see some actions.
